Look, I'm sure he turned down a scholarship or two to walk on at LSU and I applaud him for that, but you're delusional if you think he'll ever make an impact on the field
And I applaud him as well, however, I think you're delusional to just rule him out altogether. If the kid has the heart, drive and willingness to succeed and learn....let's get him going.
Don't be a dick.

Actually I think his offer list might have suffered since he was so set on LSU. Schools tend to just move on when no interest is shown. At any rate, I'm very happy we have him. I hope he has a fairy tale career at LSU!
This.
He was actually being heavily recruited by Nutt @ Arkansas, then Ole Piss when Nutt changed teams, but when CLM and GC offered the preferred walk on, he jumped and the other programs quit calling. A couple of Big East (South) and mid major programs were beginning to show interest just before Sr. Season. Stock really started to climb with performance at 7 on 7 and other QB camps. At one 7 on 7, accuracy was highest out of the group.
His Hogh School stats are very misleading as UHS talent pool "sucked hind tit" his Sr. year. Was very impressive as a Fr. and Soph. when talent pool was greater.
FWIW, he anchored his 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams as a senior in high school. Speed is Legit

I played football with him at Uhigh (I graduated a year ahead of him). Very talented guy imo.

I think what some of the posters (BB defenders) are saying is that the sky is not completely falling and that we do, in fact, have a guy that can help make the transition from JJ/JL to the future... whether that's Stephen RIvers or BB or some JUCO and whatever.
It's a major bummer that ZL chose this path but I just don't see this as the end of the world.

He will have to work very hard for it. I think that its possible.

im pulling for this kid. lots of posts show his drive to be better and his willingness to bleed purple and gold. please reward this kid with a schollie. atleast he stayed unlike some..

he is in no way, shape, or form, and SEC caliber QB, period.
With your expertise maybe you can submit your resume to Les when we fire Crowton-you appear a lot more qualified than either of them

You're delusional if you think its such a certainty that he will never be an impact. He's going to be in a battle in 2 years to start and unless we pull a stud, he might win it.

Then we're probably in trouble, bonjourno
