we do know that aj beat out rivers and rettig and had a great spring.....also was a member in espn elite 25 which is a huge accomplishment...

After having QB's get glowing reports at Manning camp, spring camp and fall practice ...then continue to be mediocre...I'll wait until he's battle tested.

He's got a lot of potential, no doubt but we really no nothing until he's doing it in games. I'm still a bit skeptical about glowing QB reviews from the staff.

Honestly think we'll have to see what Jennings can do in real game situations. Many players draw high praise in practice and camp only to have issues in the game
but its more than practice....I agree not a game but live scrimmages and the staff seeing him through out the spring and fall, he must be really impressive to win the back up job as a true freshman....

So it's retarded to think that a kid who has already established himself as the #2 man would be the starter next season? Harris may come in and beat AJ out next year, who knows, but as of now NONE of the others have shown that they are better. That's not artificial, thats fact. AJ may shite the bed, i am not saying that, but it seems as though he has a very high ceiling at this point. As it was also stated, AJ was in the ESPN top 25 and performed pretty well at all camps so saying that he will be terrible is ridiculous.

no doubt I agree 100% , but from all reports he is the real deal and that's all you can go by since he hasn't had any real live game action....

Jennings.

Harris has a ton of work to do on his mechanics, his throwing motion is elementary. I am in favor of the dual-threat qbs though

Everyone that constantly omits Rettig from these threads really should give it a rest.

It would be a real shame to run off a QB with his kind of potential because he feels like job is already out of his reach.

The kid can play and I hope he gets a fair shake.
It will be up to Cam Cameron who plays, not the JennSwag and HarriSwag Jock Sniffers.

Rettig doesn't fit the mold of what these X-Box Experts look for in a QB, namely the ability to run fast with the football. They don't want no drop back melanin challenged pro-style passing QB.

Ya really think Rettig is going to give it up and be "Run Off" because a bunch of geeks on a message board are obsessed with LSU having a Dual Threat QB.

Camerban will decide on who starts and who gives LSU the best chance to win. I guarantee you one thing, if you can't effectively pass the freaking football, you aint playing.

The Sniffers might be in for a rude awakening after 2014 Spring practice. Cam knows what he's doing and what to look for in a QB.

The constant talk about Jennings and Harris with no mention of Rettig, who was just as highly regarded out of HS, is really kind of confusing imo. Especially considering he actually seems like a good fit for what Cam seems to want to do on O.
Rettig ran a pure Run-N-Shoot offense in high school. Once he learns the Cam Cameron system and way of doing things, watch out.

Flacco, Rivers, Brees, Mettenberger and Rettig are more in line with the type of pure drop back passing QB's that Cam has been successful with. He's been around the block enough times that I'd think he knows you don't need your QB running with the football. That's what running backs are for. Everytime a QB runs with ball, he's taking away touches for the RB's, WR's and TE's. That sounds like the classic defective Miles offensive football philosophy.

Cam has stated in articles and videos (that you can see on Nola) that Jennings can do everything Mett can, and a little more (meaning be mobile). As long as Miles doesn't turn him into Option Johnson, we'll be alright.
