Who feels like a NC berth without an SECC would be slightly disappointing?

The discussion that LSU will make the NC game even if we lose to UGA perturbs me. Don't get me wrong, I'd certainly take the NC berth, but I really don't want to limp into the championship game having just lost our own conference. The UGA fanbase would be insufferable for all eternity. Remember, this is the same group of fans who sincerely believe that they were entitled to play in the 2007 National Championship. Moreover, I feel that our season goals have now transcended a "mere" national championship. This team is playing for history, they are playing for perfection, they are playing to be the best team in program history. All of these aims are within reach if we beat UGA on Saturday.
I think the team is focused on the game Saturday and isn't taking it for granted. They recognize the importance of the conference title.

SEC title is very important. Don't worry about the NC this week. Let's hoist another SEC trophy first.

It would be very disappointing. Just remember what happened to Oklahoma in 03 and Bama in 08. Undefeated regular season, then two straight losses and no championships to speak of. I don't think that will happen to this LSU team, but it would definitely suck to go into the NC game with no prior hardware.

It is the principle of the thing that every LSU fan will have to deal with
Right now...we say "win your conference" but if we lose on Saturday do we become hypocritical.
If LSU does not win the SEC I will stand by my personal perference and say Conference Champs should play for the National Title.
I do not want LSU in the title game if they lose to Georgia.
I dont think that we can argue with Bama fans about winning a conference title then change our mind when it benefits LSU.

Bama is going to be in NOLA on January 9th and they won't even have a chance to play for the SEC title...is it fair to the rest of college football? NO! Is it going to happen? YES!

I was just musing on potential outcomes. I have some concerns about the UGA game, but I don't expect LSU to lose. I do expect it to be a difficult challenge.

Absolutely..... this team is full of pride and honor, they would NOT in any way think in terms of even if we win, we still play in NC game... No way, that would not reflect the character of the team I have been watching all season..
And I happen to agree with another poster, if we lose... we dont deserve to play in the NC...

Not like we'd lose anyway, but Bama is all about getting to the NCG without a conference championship, so it shouldn't matter that much to us either in that case.
