Do you ever see LSU run play-action off it?
. We don't run it when we hand it off either

Wait so there is a rule that you can't fake the toss?

it would be pretty difficult to fake that toss and be in any position to throw it well (esp with the D crashing upon you)

And it does not hold the defense as long as the traditional fake handoff play action.

Just wonder why our fans make shite up?

Seriously? Did you watch every other game this season? Other than the bizzaro first halves of the EMU and Arkansas games we were extremely run heavy on 1st and 2nd downs, and we ran a lot of those plays using the toss.

I agree with you that the bowl game was a little better. But if you are trying to argue that the offense didn't get stale and predictable by midsession, to the point where good plays became less effective, then you would be the one making shite up.

Nobody in college. It's a dumb play.

Its not a toss dive. It's Power toss. They are pulling the backside guard and he is wrapping up to the playside LB or the pulling guard is kicking out the end man on the LOS usually the DE. That is either power or power kick. They are running power and just pitching it back. You would have the same affect if you handed if off out of the pistol

Thank God someone in this thread knew the actual play. It's a pet peeve of mine to hear LSU fans call it the toss dive. They sometimes, very rarely run a dive variation out of the quick toss, but it's about 60% power 20% counter 10-15% inside zone and 5%other.

Power kick isn't a true fundamental play. Some coaches may call it power kick, but if the backside gaurd pulls and kicks, it's called counter (there has to be another blocker, the FB or backside tackle will wrap/lead onto a LB or the first thing that shows once he gets verticle).

It's really not LSU fans faults that they can't accurately name the most common play the team runs. It's the commentators faults. These so called experts either don't know shite about football or they've been told to dumb it down. Everything is either zone read or a dive to these arse hats.
