I think it's obvious that Jefferson should be the #1
Judging someone after two starts..hmmmmmm, obvious?
nah. Im not sure of anything concerning this qb situation as no other realistic person should be either.

I'll give you an amen on that.
I fully expect to see all 3 QBs under center due to their inability to move the team at various times.

I respect your opinion, and I respectfully disagree.
In my opinion, it is obvious - apparently, you disagree.
I maintain that it is realistic, and rational, to put J.J. in the #1 role going into this year.
If things change in practice, and Miles/coaches think Lee has shown something extraordinary which warrants a change... so be it.
But, where I strongly disagree with you is on this one point:
"no other realistic person"... and I'm paraphrasing...and responding to your implication:
We don't know anything.
We know what we saw the players do last year, and we're commenting on that.

You can't have it both ways.... Lee is the answer, but, I have serious concerns about the QB position because Jefferson is the starter; and, it was all the defenses' fault last year.

Why?

JL didnt have a problem moving the team last year.. his problem was at times he moved us the wrong direction. I sure would like to think, given the oppertunity those misakes wont happen again this year.
JJ, has two starts.
TWO.
He has played two great to good first halves, two mediocore to poor second halves...not to mention the time of the season and pressure situation he was under was obv less than the circumstances JL played under.
RS,, Highschool star.
CG,,, Highschool star.

Okay. If you were the coach who would be #1, and who would be #2 on the practice squad?

He made the big mistake too often last year, simple as that. If a CB gave up 6 80 yard TDs in one season, regardless of how talented he was, the majority of fans would think he is the underdog to regain his starting position.
Why should QB be any different? He made the worst play he could make SIX times last year. Any player that does that should be crowned the backup to a more stable player until he can EARN the starting job back.
If JL does earn it, more power to him.

I'd start the guy who has the best spring and fall and who I thought would give me the best chance to win. And I have the other guy ready to go, because the odds are there will be an injury at that position.

Nothing wrong with that. But, I would add that winning the job in practice is more of an uphill battle than winning it on the field, once the team has seen the game results.

quote:That is the Million dollar question. From the last two performances JJ showed, I would have to give him the upper hand due to the fact that he didnt do anything to lose either games!! But, I would not completely shut the door on JL, givin the experience he gained from last year!

i dont have much problems with your post.
However, leave last season where it belongs.
I just DO NOT believe JL should start off 09 a step behind JJ b/c of his shortcomings as a freshman in 08.
FWIW the 16 ints should be far more concern than the pick 6's... that shite was a fluke.

Obviously you can't even speak rationally about this subject w/o some kind of backhanded shot at one of our players.
Have you ever coached kids?

If people would leave it at that, there would be little further discussion. But, I guess, that wouldn't be as fun!

I honestly don't know what you mean. 1) what "backhanded shot" at one of our players did I take?; 2) How have I not spoken rationally; 3) Yes, I coach.
