Has anyone stayed at the NYLO Las Colinas? Is this area ok?

No I am not familiar with it...

Las Colinas is fairly close to DFW Airport.

Las Colinas is a nice area.

Las Colinas is a fancy way of saying North Irving.
Nice and clean, yes. Much to do? Not really.
Close to DFW? Yes
Close to stadium? Not really, but closer than Dallas.
Downtown FtWorth or uptown Dallas = more to do.

on target on what to do..even though there are a lot of restaurants and some sports bars.
one of the LSU -Dallas lookin places in in COOL RIVER.
but a fancy way to say North Irving..not even close.
Las Colinas is a MUCH better area than Irving.
Byron Nelson Country Club is an example of a Las Colinas neighbor.

The LSU Alumni Chapter in Dallas has arranged some good deals at are hotels, in particular, the Hilton Lincoln Centre - where the Band is staying. Check out LSU Alumni Dallas website for more information

If you want to be close to the party stay at one of the following:
W hotel
Hotel ZaZa
Mansions on Turtle Creek
The Cresent Hotel is very impressive too...

If you want to be closer to the stadium stay at the Four Seasons, Las Colinas or Nylo Hotel, Las Colinas. After those any old piece of shite from Dallas to Arlington will do. I would recommend doing it up in Dallas though. It'll be a much more fun running around uptown Thursday through Sunday! Frankies, The Quarter Bar, Primo's will be crawling with LSU and A&M folks.

I use them for about 300 Hotel Room Nights a year.
..some of the other hotels are nice, but at $200-$400 per night..
..it's an extra 7 min drive.

BTW if anyone flies into LOVE Field, there is a FREE Shuttle

I live near the Belmont Hotel. Right on 30 just west of downtown. Very hip. Great restaurant called "Smoke" which is gourmet BBQ. Great view of downtown from the bar.

Just under $200/night. They have a shuttle to local spots.

The NYLO is a very cool hotel. Not much to do right around there, but if you are just going to the game and staying at the NYLO it will be fun. Lots of singles live and work in Las Colinas, so the bar gets pretty crowded at night, but they have great seating outside and just outside of the bar area inside the hotel. It's very New York or LA swanky with outdoor fire pits and cool lounge chairs. If you don't want to go downtown Dallas the NYLO is a cool spot to consider.

It is going to end up being 7-10 (late 20s) guys (bachelor party)

This information makes all the difference in the world. Skip Deep Ellum. I wouldn't go down there with 10 guys (and not girls) to get wasted. That is a recipie for a dull night or one that ends in a fight or arrest.

Live it up when you go to the strip club and cab it home.

Otherwise, you are going to want to be in Uptown. Addison is the 30-something to 50ish metrosexual, big hair, wanna be millionaires and divorcees in FMPs. Greenville is mainly younger, but the parking just sucks and there won't be many single chicks to hit on.

The college educated mid-20s to 30s crowd is in Uptown. The un-escorted chicks looking to flirt with you are in Uptown. Uptown is where a group of 10 guys won't look out of place.

The ZaZa is good, not cheap, but nice. Mansion and Crescent are expensive, but they may have a weekend deal. The Melrose is older and (for full disclosure in a gay area) close and not as expensive. Downtown, the Joule is nice, but also expensive.

If I were you, and you'll be here Thursday night, I'd stay at the ZaZa and cab it up to Primo's for some cocktails and mexican food. Sit on the patio and people watch until dark. Then head down the MAT or Chisty's and watch a game (perhaps also on the patio) or get a beer at the Ginger Man if there's no game on. End up at midnight at the Loon and, as a poster above said, one cocktail is all you need. Then it's a quick cab ride down McKinney back to the ZaZa.

Hint: detour to Whataburger is not too far east on Lemon from the Loon.

Wait until midnight. At 11:30, you may be the only one there.

Knox is a great area, but the football fan types and the un-attached are more likely to be in the Uptown area.

By the way, unless something has changed, the Slip Inn has Kiss on the jute box.

Generally true, EXCEPT for J. Blacks. That place is on fire.
