Here's the thing. It doesn't have to. Mauck and Flynn were average to slightly above average respectively. The defense will likely be top ten in yards and scoring. The rushing offense will be top ten and ST will likely see improvement. If the QB's and receivers just play consistently close to their abilities this could be a great year for LSU football. I don't see that as a big if. I'm not predicting a NC like the OP, however I do think it's the best shot at one since 2012 when LSU lost 3 one-score games; two in the final minutes.

You are delusional. Minor improvements and we are there. You refer to Arkansas. That team that got whipped by Texas Tech? And we destroyed TT. It is about matchups and if we can pass the ball a little better then we are very dangerous.
Clemson lost to Bama by 5 and we lost to Bama by 14. We held Bama to 30 points in Tuscaloosa and Clemson gave up 45. Would they have run us out of the building? Many people thought TT would but it didn't happen. You never know until you play the games.
We bring back nearly the entire team and have some great kids coming in. LSU can easily win it all this year.
