1999....Running back knee-crawled into the EZ from the two yard line.

To this day it is one of the worst calls I've ever witnessed in any sporting event. Period.

..Of course the no call on Corey Webster pushing that Bama WR was pretty bad too.

The year was 1999. The Rant's newly vindicated hero Gerry DiNardo was coaching. Per Donnie Jones' book, the seniors organized a players' only meeting in the hotel the night before that game to try and figure out a way to salvage their final season with the team, since they had absolutely zero confidence in their coaching staff to do so. That season was a total embarrassment, the kind of low to which an LSU team should never fall, yet if you were a casual observer without LSU ties, you'd think that by reading the Rant that Gerry was as well regarded here as the likes of Dietzel or McClendon. That was the closest Gerry came to beating an SEC team all year, as we went 0-7 in league play before we finally got rid of him.

Not true. Even Hallman's worst teams were able to beat Mississippi State.

WRONG!

They beat us in '90 and '91 - two awful LSU teams, the first of which had given up halfway through the season.

They beat us again only in '99.

Curley beat Moo 3/4 times. DiNardo beat them 4/5.
