They obviously aren't there yet....They can take away viewership/fanhood away from us.....But at the end of the day, they're going to need the money from the sports being played.

They can only hold out so long. Money always ends up talking at the end of the day.

They can afford to hold out one season, March madness "had" to do it, NCAA baseball had to do it.

Football will be "affected" severely this season....but they aren't built to go without for more than a season.

Let's see what happens if coaching salaries get suspended for the year.

I know its a pretty obvious point....but its not very discussed here.

Is the fact that athletes and the people who work/run these organizations REQUIRE the sports to be played to generate revenue.....without fans watching and games getting played....nothing happens, and they all have to find alternative employment, that most certainly won't be near as lucrative....

This applies to everything. The majority of the people saying "keep it shut down until we have a cure/vaccine" are not being affected financially.

The straw man argument. Bloody pathetic. It’s amazing how reasonable people can get caught up in their desire to see football played and present every useless argument for that cause. You sure this board isn’t for the exclusive use of retards? Guess I’m guilty.

Fact...... college football is huge to so many cities economies during the season. Some are gonna be in real trouble. Including many places in BR. It’s a gold mine on a Saturday when LSU plays a home game at 6:30. Esp if it’s a Florida or Bama ......

Fact...college football teams/towns are not exclusive members of the economic impact. You check out the hospitality industry lately? Airlines? Combined they make the college football economic impact seem like a pittance. Those industries and their ancillary businesses are far more important to the economy.

Not the economies that matter. The coasts and other huge metro areas could give a shite less about NCAA sports.

You do realize that no other sports program even comes close to the money football pulls in right?

You do realize we’re in unprecedented times right? You do realize that universities have 10’s to 100’s of millions in endowments right?

Considering the times universities might be looking to change policies, change certain laws, consult with their endowment patrons, etc etc in order to maintain funding? All thee things are on the table.
