I'm just trying to figure out exactly when our fanbase went from a cohesive, positive support unit to a collection of jaded, miserable vultures with an absurd sense of entitlement.

Our fanbase was "a cohesive, positive support unit" while the team was winning national championships and 11 or 12 games a year. At all other times (at least since the turn of the century, and more often than not before that as well) it has been "a collection of jaded, miserable vultures with an absurd sense of entitlement." In the encyclopedia, next to the entry "Fair Weather Fans" is a group photo of the LSU fanbase (or at least that portion of it which regularly posts on TD).

did you watch this team play in 2009?

The post I was responding to said there was ""no improvement" in the LSU football team from 08 to 09 and labeled 08 was a "disaster". To me, that means one must see 09 as a "disaster" as well. I don't agree with that assessment of 09.

Most sane/reasonable people judge LSU based off SEC results and national rankings. Using both of those measuring sticks, the LSU football program had a fairly noticeable bump for the better in 09 as opposed to 08. 7th in the SEC to 3rd and no poll ranking to a ranking in the top 20 in all the polls.

This entire bitching bout our QB serves no purpose other than to let off steam. We got what we got and no amount of crying is gonna change that.

Both JJ and JL are going into their 3rd year of play and I see no reason not to expect that to be a positive for us. Our D is beginning it's 2nd year under our DC and I see no reason not to expect that to be a positive for us. We appear to have healthy, able RB's and I see no reason not to expect that to be a positive for us.

None of that may come to pass or all of it might. I don't know for sure and neither does anyone else. I will wait till Sept to find out before passing judgment and others can do as they please.
