I'll never understand why he chose basketball. He looks like a football player and he has zero chance of playing basketball professionally.

Idk may because his brother was pretty good basketball player.....

The main difference is Brian is a 6'5" post player. 6'5" 280lbs? Sounds like a lineman or maybe a TE to me.

Brad Bridgewater is Brian's brother?

Bridgewater is nothing more than a fouling machine. I can't believe he didn't transfer and I am really surprised that Coach JJ even offered a scholly to him. He would be lucky to start for Southern.
WOW! Talk about a heartless soulless fan. Your face should be on the poster. It is sad the athletes who choose to come to LSU must represent such people.

I love LSU basketball. I call it like I see it. He should have never been offered a scholarship and he is not a good basketball player.

He doesn't like football at all. Played his JR year in high school and quit after that.
FWIW, he has terrible hands
Not true. Went to high school with him while he played football and the dude was sensational at TE/WR. The coach kept him out wide for most plays, and they ran post routes until the opposing CBs complained.
He chose basketball because he liked it better, and he wanted to follow in his brother's footsteps. I mean, the dude was getting recruited by Kentucky and Georgetown in 8th grade, but wanted to play basketball for LSU. Although, he always said his dream was to play for UNC, but they didn't come calling.
It's just too bad that he's not getting the minutes he deserves. The dude is a lot better than he shows, but he just needs to get going--was always a slow starter, but got hot in basketball after the first 8 minutes or so. JJ's routine is not going to cut it to get the best out of him, but we all knew that.

all the rest of it was cool until you said this. Watch a game and forget you went to school with him. He does literally nothing that says he should be at sec school. He is the definition of a player who normally transfer to low D1 school or lower

but he is your friend so he should get PT

He fits the definition of a tweener body.
He has good basketball skills apparent in the minutes I have seen him play for LSU.
But, he is not quick enough to play the small forward or third guard spot defensively. He also doesn't have quite the outside offensive skill needed to man those spots.
He is too short to play the power forward spot against SEC competition. He is strong, but he is carrying too much weight and is not explosive enough. He also has had some intermittent injuries that have hurt his chances. If he was 4 inches taller with longer arms, he could be a significant force at the PF spot. Alas, it is not meant to be.
He has helped out in limited spots when foul trouble or injuries kept other players off the court. But, his liabilities limit effectiveness even in these duties.
That is the way I see it. I don't intend this in a mean or hurtful manner.

I think herein lies the issue for him. He does not have the quickness or the shot to play in the wing, and he does not seem to be able to consistently give the inside presence needed on the interior.
There have been 6-5 guys that have been able to play effectively inside before like Barkley and Corliss Williamson. But they had more quickness and athleticism along with their bulk to help them there. Brian doesn't quite have that.
Not sure about his wingspan either but it seems short. In reality that's what matters in terms of effectiveness. You don't rebound with the top of your head and block shots with your forehead. That's why Mickey was such an effective shot blocker, he was 6-9 but his wingspan was 7-1.
