Chris is amazing. Don't see how anyone could hate on him. A pro's pro.

I don’t hate him- but his calls are very bland. No real excitement whatsoever and sounds very much like a neutral network announcer. Doesn’t seem to have a natural love of the Tigers. But he is very professional.

Umm I have been watching listening and going to games since 1972 so I have a pretty good frame of reference. Not to mention I have lived all over US and heard plenty of radio play by play guys who put Hackthorne to shame.

So. I GRADUATED from LSU in ‘72 and had the pleasure of listening to Ferguson growing up. He was great.
Hawthorne was very very good. As far as basketball PBP, Blair can’t hold a candle to Jim. He was fantastic for a long time and IMO, it’s a harder sport to call.becausr there aren’t minibreaks like you have in football and baseball.
The issue with Jim was his emotions got the best of him at the back end of his career as it does all of us as we get older.
Make no mistake, Hawthorne is a 1B to Ferguson being a 1A.

FWIW, I also listed to a shite load of Saints games and even the Texans when i cant make the game. Yep. I’m the old guy that turns down the TV and listens to TE radio. It’s just now it is XM through my phone BT to my surround sound or if it is at night and the saints are on it is WWL.
The problem is the radio broadcast is not delayed on WWL. That kinda sucks.
