the only thing we need is a QB and a play caller worth a shite, all the other pieces are there, and i do mean all, whatever we lost we can replace

Mo - simon
Brockers - Ego
BT - Loston
RR - Shep )gonna have a huge year)
Blackwell - La'El
Peterson - didnt do much anyway Clement was better

I actually think we will be stonger team because we got rid of the cancer...

Simon will fill in nicely, also, no other team has a big time WR to give us troubles

Loston will be better than BT

Ego will not be as good as brockers but will surely shine

Shep is going to have a huge year...were still loaded at WR....all of them can catch mett's ball..

Oline will be stronger with La'el and Faulk older

Clement will be all-sec....

only question mark this year was QB....that is fixed now..

LB play will improve because those three we have will be Juniors..

did i miss anything?

My recollection is that we did a decent job of getting pressure, but McCarron was just very good at avoiding it, throwing quickly, dumping off, throwing on the run, etc. I was left with the impression that he (and his receivers) played a heck of a game. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

This. We should have sacked him on a number of occasions. I remember one of our (LBs, I think) falling off him twice.

When the Head Coach is Miles, Trust is the last thing on my mind. No one has more talent then LSU, but you can count on one or more coaching blunders a year.

There is literally nothing that suggests this other than his (too) high ranking coming out of high school. At all.

Nothing to suggest this either. He hasn't been able to supplant Downs to get in the regular rotation so far. I think he is a key to the season--he needs to step up big time. Again, I hope he does, but there's absolutely nothing he's done so far to suggest he will. Significant dropoff with Brockers leaving imho.

the qb controversy is over, so the lockerroom shouldnt be split.

les will still be in his oc's head. les is running that offense. and i have no problem with it.

it all depends on if TM7 comes back as hungry, and with the same chip on his shoulder as this year. he drives the team.

Are you serious?? You have no problem with 1/3 of the team not being productive. Because in the big games you cant win with just special teams and D. 30 Yrds passing aganst GA and winning wont happen most of the time.

except we did. in every big game except the last one. and still had chances to change that game, even though we never got anything going.

mett is not mobile, so we'll see more of the j lee offense from this year. i formation, a lot more playaction pass to take advantage of mett's advantage, his arm.

and that nc game was just bad. jj missed some reads, missed some throws, penalties. three dropped snaps. it just never got right from the start. if you wanna look at it objectively.

no doubt, BT was a great leader...i loved the guy, but loston will be unleashed next year and will shine, he's bigger, faster, and loves to hit, he may get burned a few times but he'll stop drives because of his aggressive style of hitting...

How are you so sure Loston will be better than Taylor. Brandon Taylor is probably one of the must underrated tigers ever.

"Damn -- you make it sound as though we SUCK."

In fairness, you probably should take into account the OP's subject line. He said what need to improve upon to be "unstoppable." He didn't say we "sucked" at anything. I think it was a good post that laid out the areas of concern/room for improvement for what everyone recognizes to be one of the best teams heading into the 2012 season.

Right, let's not believe in a guy who the most successful coach in LSU history with team national rankings of #1, #2, #3, #5, #8, and #17 in his 7 year LSU career.

What we need to improve

QB Play

It's hard to imagine that this position could get any worse than it was for the last five games of 2011 and the entire 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons. But this staff's track record in handling the QB position suggests it might not get any better, either.
quote:

WR Play in the passing game
Irrelevant until we get a QB and actually let him play.
quote:

Who will play TE?
Mitch Joseph was an unsung hero for this squad, but he did a very good job sealing the edge on running plays. Peterson doesn't seem like much of a loss.

Without a QB, a receiving tight end is about as useful to us as Drew Alleman was in the NC game.
