I don't see anything wrong with expecting some improvement in mechanics after an intensive period of practice. It us obvious to me that Crowton isn't even addressing this. The problem with JJ is less about talent and mire about skill. He has NO refined skills and we don't have the coaches to help him develop any.

While Lee looked better later in the game, he looked just like his old self early, as well. Of course, despite the struggles of the top two, Chris Garrett remains buried on the bench. Let's face it. Our ONLY hope next year is an improved line and great running game. We may not have an SEC QB on this roster.

It appears to me that he's regressed since his games as a true freshman. Maybe he's overthinking the position and feeling the pressure of high expectations, but he seems much less comfortable and confident than he did that first year. His fear of making a mistake outweighs his need to make a play.

It may be time to bring in a sports psychologist.

He waits way too long to throw, has no pocket awareness, can't scramble, it's time to give a freshman a shot, in my opinion!

I dont understand why people expect JJ to have progressed so much. Its been 3 months since his last game. He really never overly impressed anyone in the 09 season, so why does anyone expect a miraculous change in 3 months

Bull, there should be some progression. His reads should be better, he should at least have a better understanding of the offense, or his mechanics could be improved. With all this talk of how much film he's watching, Shepard waking him up to throw one on one, Gonzalez breaking down routes to simplify things and etc. there should be some improvement. Period. I'm not saying he should be completely on his game but there should be something. None of what I listed looked to have improved. Deep ball still sucks too. There literally has been no improvement from the quarterback yesterday. Mild blitzing, half the first teamers, and no concern of being hit yet the QB still looked lost. And as the other poster mentioned, I'm tired of seeing this "muther fu**er" look on his face anytime some one does something wrong.

some people would refer to this as coaching ability, or lack therefore of. our offense next year will be run, run,and then run to try to hide our pitiful qb situation. miles/crowton WILL NOT play cg as a fresman. they are going to sink or swim w/upper classmen at almost every position. must piss 'em off to have to put the beast in as a freshman back. you know the heat must be on for us to see that
