Off the field, he is a high character family man who is very pleasant to meet and goes out of his way to be accommodating to fans. He's light years better in this regard to immediate predecessor.
On the field is where those who have problems with him find fault.
The 'winning with Saban's players' thing, which turned out to be more of a 'not having a QB after RP got booted' thing.
The troubles with clock management that cost us a win against Ole Miss, and nearly cost us against Tennessee.
The stagnant offense..see 'not having a QB after RP got booted' above.
Yeah, he talks funny...he's partially deaf. What you see with him is what you get. He's not fake in any way shape or form.
He can recruit with the best of them, his players and staff love him, and he seems to have no problem hiring good coaches, just getting rid of bad ones.
In short, I'm glad he's our coach.
