What makes you think LSU will be any better than 8-4?

I see some improvements and I am actually excited to see this team but I honestly dont see any record better than 8-4 (maybe 9-3 at best)

IF you disagree, why? Point out to me what I dont see...

It's sad to see D-line U become the weakness the defensive side of the ball. Someone remind me how big Ego Ferguson and JC Copeland are?

Well, we were 9-3 last year, so...

maybe 9-3 at best

this makes no sense

We might go 8-4, but it's certainly not the "best" we are capable of.

Better on both lines, better at RB, better at FB, arguably better in the defensive backfield. QB is still a huge problem, but it won't be any worse than it was the last 2 years, and with an improved running game, could even be masked.

The offense and defense should both be better, and the team was 9-3 last year. Yes, LSU has a tougher schedule this year, but 9-3 seems like a reasonable prediction, and 10-2 is certainly not out of the question.

Because LSU has the talent and ability to win every single game it plays, and if you don't think that then you're an idiot.

REALLY? WOW!! I must have watched the wrong team then... I saw a DL that looked more like a swinging gate that will get run over by any team with a power running game.

Ford and Ridley make them look horrible and I dont see Ford or Ridley being near as good as say a Ingram and Richardson.

They couldnt stop a 3rd and short if their life depended on it.

I agree we look better there. A little. Still worried about them holding up thru an entire SEC season.

Maybe a little.

With the schedule being harder and not any imporovement from last year, I see us having a worse season.

I want to believe this team will be better but I am still not sold on it.

I agree I see an 8-4 team, unless Nevis, Downs, and Agayere (sp??) really mean THAT much to the Dline. But even if that's the case, we can't play them all game, we don't have depth on the Dline. Our pass rush looked great with Mingo, but our run defense is going to be crappy.

And just so I have this straight, you're basing all of these opinions on the Spring game?

And you are basing your opinion on what? Hope??

If you cant base your current opinions on this team from the spring game then what the hell can you base them on??? Recruting rankings from 2 years ago. Yea, that will end well.

Ok, so you are basing your predictions only on the Spring game. Carry on.

I didn't see the whole thing, but I do believe our best DT--Nevis--was out, no? As was Downs who will play a lot. Never were our best 11 players on the field.

I think Ford and Ridley are pretty good--I also think our OL is pretty good, too.

Except that time they did it. You know, on the goal-line? And remember when they did it on 4th and short, too?

I think they could but I also see at least 9 to 10 games we could easily lose this year. If we win half of them, we are still looking at 8-4 or 7-5.

9/4 North Carolina - -
9/11 at Vanderbilt - -
9/18 Miss. State - -
9/25 West Virginia - -
10/2 Tennessee - -
10/9 at Florida - -
10/23 at Auburn - -
11/6 Alabama - -
11/20 Ole Miss - -
11/27 at Arkansas

No, but did you watch any football last year. We werent good! Couple that with some of the things that went on Saturday and BAM! You have something to factor into an opinion that we probably wont be a 10-2 team.

Obviously, the run D was horrible. Not to mention the fact that the O-line performed well, but against who? A run D that wasnt very good. You cant say that you have seen this O-line perform well against good competition, because the UNC game will be the first time is has that opportunity.

Where are you basing your opinions from?

Fair enough, but I think we will be improved on both sides of the ball. And I thought you also said you saw "some improvement?"

So you think our OL, who still has yet to play against quality oposition, is pretty good?

Yes. I think if we would have been playing a Florida or Bama we would have been ran all over.

We will need more DL's than that. Our DE looked good. Pas rush should be much better. I think the draw will kill us though and most power running games will wear us out. We are small.

No agrument there. As I said, I am still curious to see if they can carry an entire team through the SEC all season though. Because thats what they will have to do.

Except that time they did it. You know, on the goal-line? And remember when they did it on 4th and short, too?

Sure they did. Your right! But that was a very small percentage of the time actually.

Not to mention it was a goaline defense with extra defenders on the line against a very vanilla offense.

Hey I want my Tigers to go undefeated but the reality is very different than the Homer world.

I have been right about our team and the record for over 5 yrs now except one season and I was only off by 1 game.

We don't play Georgia, Tennessee doesn't have a QB or running back at this point and couldn't score much with the personnel they had last year. Also, the all-purpose back that killed us last year at Ole Miss is gone. I will give up Alabama and Florida for argument's sake. We will be ready and completely healthy against UNC just like we were against Washington with improved QB pressure and an improved running game. I like our chances for losing only 2 at worst even if JJ plays exactly the way he played last year with no improvements.
