I'm heading down to NOLA Thursday after this pesky interview that is supposed to be over by noon. hope to make it for the 2:30 tip (which will inevitably be 3:15 anyway). Staying till LSU wins the tournament or gets sent home.

With the softness of the bubble, a lot of NIT-worthy teams will get in the NCAA this year. That leaves the NIT in bad shape, so I feel we are an absolute lock for the NIT right now.

yeah it looks like worst case we'll be a high-mid NIT seed. could be another home game on the horizon.

on the real, i can enjoy me some NIT hoops. the lsu-iowa game a few years back was fun to watch. of course ball state blew a load on us in the next round but i'll be glad to see storm get another chance at some postseason ball and it is invaluable experience for the freshmen and sophomores on this team. of course the rant/casual lsu hoops fan's viewpoint is GRRRRRRRRRR DECLINE NIT BID AND GO INTO NEXT SEASON WITH ZERO POSTSEASON EXPERIENCE NIT IS FOR LOSERS GRRRRR. it is what it is. still hoping we sneak in to the dance but my hopes are pretty much day to day at this point.

I think NIT is an OK point to be at for a rebuilding program. Not acceptable for the long haul, but not a bad building block.
If 5 teams make the NCAA, and we are the No.6 and in the NIT. That's about the basketball version of the Chick-Fil-A bowl.

I had similar hopes for the Tiggers then they played like crap against Ole Miss. No shot at the NCAA tourny unless they win the SEC tournament. Ainta gonna happen! LSU will make the NIT field.
