What Jay should have done at the end of the game.

After the Jones HR in the bottom of the ninth we loaded the bases with one out. Down by one run, we needed two runs to win the game.
Jay should have called a triple steal. The pitcher would have spotted the runner coming from third by a mile and thrown it to the catcher before the runner was half way there.
The runner from third would get just close enough to the catcher to entice him to chase. Instead of retreating back to third, he takes a 90 degree angle to the dugout. He starts running all willie nillie like that opossum. Spins around the ball girl and uses her as a shield.
While this is going on, the other two runners sneak next to home plate. When they finally tag the first runner out at the bullpen. The other two runners tag home plate and game over.
Sounds crazy but I seen it happen before.
(You have to had watched the Nichols game to get the joke.)

No, when we had two on and nobody out and Pearson at the plate, the obvious play to me at the time was for Pearson to bunt the runners over and have Crews up with two runners in scoring position. Instead, Pearson struck out. But in hindsight, I think Jay made the right call by not bunting there because they would have simply put Crews on with First open anyway and they would have been in the exact same spot with bases loaded and one out.
Nichols played hard and made some spectacular plays in the field. You tip your cap and move on.
