Cutting your starting quarterback just for missing some classes is hardly a top decision, especially when you're the coach of the defending national champion!

Dude, that was not the reason why he was let go. It was a culmination of incidents and the classroom was just one in a LONG string of incidents. Coach Miles gave Ryan EVERY opportunity to straighten himself out. He didn't, he's gone, end of story....next

All of the above, but mainly because he honored his commitment to LSU, even though it must have been tempting to go back home to Michigan. It took a helluva lot of integrity to do that.

Beat me to it. I have a feeling, with this bye week coming up, RP would have done something to get himself in trouble AGAIN. He would be suspended from the team AGAIN and we would have Hatch and Lee going into Florida with the same amount of experience that they had against Appy State.

Glad we don't have to worry about that anymore.

the fake punt againt Arizona St. If that would have gone incomplete the fans would have been calling for his job before he got back to Baton Rouge. I thought it was a risky yet big statement as the new coach at LSU.

Seems like i remember reading or hearing somewhere, that was actually an accident that turned out well in our favor.

A read by the punter, not an accident. The call was allegedly on if available. And it was.

If I remember correctly, the fake punt was called on the field by Ronnie Prude (I really do not recall if he was still playing for LSU) or maybe Doucet. I think it was Ronnie

agreed... definitely WAS NOT a MILES call. and although he granted permission for them to make that call, I would bet it was never intended when we were inside our own 10 (on the road, in a last minute change of venue, after one of the most horrific natural disasters in US history, blah, blah, blah...)

all in all it was a damn cool play!
