Well Vince Young, who the offense was created for, made the wrong read sometimes. That's going to happen.

You can't compare JJ to VY. Vince was a better passer than people gave him credit for, and very much a leader on the field. Jefferson is neither of those.

You think he improved against Tennessee?

I think he's improved since West Virginia.

He's run past people in the open field, but I have yet to see him make someone miss this season.

This coming from the guy who invented the 6-0-5 Bump and Run defense.

I didn't compare Jefferson to the best college QB of all time.

I just noted that even Young would misread the DE from time to time. It happens.

What I don't understand is:

Why do you situationally substitute JJ for JL at the goal line....but.....don't situationally substitute JL for JJ on long passing downs.

Jefferson has played much better in the ortation and it forces the defense to prepare for literally two different offenses

Ok give JJ one drive, but the offense that JL brings to the field has produced more TD's than the offense JJ brings to the field.

They did, against Tennessee. And what a perfect way for them to setup Lee to fail.

He has 36 touches this year (that's six touches a game.)

He had 5 touches for 5 yards in the Florida game.

That was beyond retarded.

They need to make sure to still call about 50/50 run pass with both QBs, or this whole "make the defense prepare for two offenses" thing goes down the crapper.

Les and Gary lack of creativity using Shep is gonna cost that kid. Defenses have figured out what happens when he gets the ball, and now its up to our coaches to adjust. I don't know if I have faith that they can. Those were some of the most obvious sweeps with Shep against Fla. No one would've had success with them.

There are a few plays that JJ does well and is difficult to stop...especially since he can actually throw it ok. However, we can score a million a game with Lee and these receivers...and running backs galore. We could and in my opinion should not win the SEC or NC in spite of a bad offense. We should be competing for it and really be the odds favorite with the potential balance of the offense with the best special teams and defense I can remember. FREE LEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

It isn't just pure speed, you have to read the DE and then find the hole in the defense to run.

I can't believe I'm going to say this because I honestly think Crowton and Miles are terrible, but maybe Shepard's lack of production isn't their fault.

I know its heresy on this board, and I really hope I'm wrong, but other than just running past people, I haven't seen anything out of Shepard that wows me.
