Our third string defensive backs are better than the starters for Towson. The offense has plenty of reps against a good defense on a daily basis, it's all about executing effectively.

Yeah, the passing offense worked great against Auburn last weekend. Regardless of the fact that we look like shite when passing the ball, surely it will come around when we play the meat of our SEC schedule..I mean, we do have 4 passing Tds in 4 games..what was I thinking, surely it will be fine when we finally really, really need it to even get our arse to the Nov 3rd game against Bama..

Run the ball down their throat, don't throw the ball anymore than we have to, and come away with a victory.

This has always been, always is, and always will be the offensive gameplan under Miles when we play an inferior opponent at home.

It baffles me that some of you, after 7 years of watching it, still expect something different when we play a team like towson.

And considering we havent shown any inclination to work on our passing offense in our games that had great weather, it doesnt leave many spots to work on it before we get into the meat of our schedule, does it?
Do we wait until we are playing Fla and struggling against 8 in the box to start throwing it downfield?
Last weekends offensive performance was painfully similar to Jan 9th. I was hoping this coaching staff had learned their lesson from that game. But it seems they havent.

Awesome plan genius. Have guys trying to run all out sprints in a slop fest. You grind this one out and get in the locker room healthy. It will be the perfect conditions for pulled hammies, turned ankles and twisted knees.

Wait, why are you calling this guy a tard? So you would rather try to throw the ball downfield, in a rainy game, when the ball is slippery, when its hard to see, and when the receivers gloves will be slick? And what do you think it's gonna do to the receivers' and QB's confidence when this idea fails?

Start the 2nd string O-line, or at least bring them in during the 2nd quarter. Rest our 1st string o-lines legs and keep them from getting rolled up. Pound the ball 70% of the plays.

It's not gonna be an entertaining game, so don't watch if you wanna see it get thrown around.

Playing Towson isn't going to prepare LSU to play UF. In fact, it may do the opposite. LSU will have this shut down by halftime.
Maybe someone will get some confidence built up, don't know. I would guess the competition is better in practice though.

Oh, so you don't want to win the SEC championship and play in the NCG again?

Yeah, I hate 21-0 and 27 yards of passing..

We have the opportunity to get back there. But if we are one-dimensional offensively again, it will be a repeat..

someone remind me, what was the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results?? yeah, that worked..

You are aware that JJ is no longer here, correct?

How about focusing on this year's team and this QB instead of focusing on 1/9. You can't move forward if you're constantly looking back.

To you, maybe.

For example, what was JJ's highest passing yardage game? Google it and tell me what you find.

It was against Ole Miss and he threw 254 yards.

To date, Mett has played in 4 games and has almost, within yards, gone over 200 yards a couple of those games:

9/1 North Texas W 41-14 19 26 192
9/8 Washington W 41-3 12 18 195
9/15 Idaho W 63-14 17 22 222
9/22 @Auburn W 12-10 15 27 169

So how is it looking "too similar?"

Our offensive mindset will beat everyone on the schedule. Gotta come up with something for Bama. Les has been pretty good against Nick minus 1/9.

Huge agree here. We had a bad night. Pissing and whining about it 9 months later makes you look like an idiot.

Just like pissing and moaning about 1/9. Wouldn't you consider that insanity?

Get over it. It's time.

I want to see the fly patterns, the post patterns, the play action bombs. I am really hoping we are not waiting until the Fla/SC games to "unveil" our passing attack.
This might work vs Towson, making you all giddy and shite, but it isn't what needs working on.
The drive building slants, screens, Y-stick, snag, smash, combo, crosses etc, do need reps.
I'd rather see a sluggo for TD than PA, fly, flag, or post one.
Burning a Towson DB deep would parallel stealing a kid's ice cream.
Weather might make this a moot discussion though.
