How is Marcus Spears always on the cutting block?

the lifting regiment gives LSU players plenty of opportunities to physically develop to their maximum potential, or very near it.
and LSU consistently puts guys out who struggle in the weight training portions of workouts
i'd say it's the regimen since it happens year after year

The vast majority of LSU players have had no problems with the combine.
have you followed the combine?
there have been 2 LSU guys whose workouts helped them at the combine: laron landry and buster davis
there have been a ton who had their stocks sink at the combine due to mediocre-poor-horrible workouts

it's almost an annual event when LSU players go to the combine and dissapoint
is your argument that every disappointment is Moffitt's fault? Should we look for another S&C coach?

no
but i don't think he should be on the alter that he is, and i wish he'd work to improve our team speed
our weight philosophy is based in the 1970s...i don't knwo if that's miles or moffit, but i'd wish we'd stop valuing bulk so much

Nope. Nice try at an excuse though..

Realy? When?

he was on the trading block all offseason and can't maintain a spot as a #1 definitive starter
he starts, but he doesn't dominate the snap #s

only 2, are you sure? what about Addai? His workout helped him. How should Moffitt go about doing his job differently? Why do you suppose Saban and Kiffen came after him so strongly?

You weren't born by the 1970's. You watched Zero 1970's Football.

well it was expected. IF he didn't workout like he was supposed to, he'd have fallen
nobody thought landry or davis were sub 4.4 guys. hell i don't think laron thought he was (that's why he shut it down once he saw that 4.35)

emphasize speed

so therefore i can know nothing of the 1970s?

Why don't you post some Links? I'll then post the links where Fat Tuna was kissing Spears & James respective butts..

parcells wasn't even his coach or GM this offseason, so i don't see how that would prove anything in reply to those facts

what alter? He's been recognized by his peers as a top s&c coach and been given an award for this. He's clearly on of the best.

Slow, you know exactly what Moffitt's philosophy is based upon. It's been mentioned tons of times on this site. He trains the same way as when Saban was here.

He's a strength and conditioning coach not a speed coach! Sorry if thats been said already, but I have a 2 year old crying and I don't really feel the need to look at 11 pages of horse crap!
and F all of you that think Moffit isnt doing his job properly!

he's clearly good, but i think a lot of schools have S/C guys just as capable
i think the "best" is Texas's S/C coach, but that's my personal opinion

i know i posted this already
but moffit was mainly a speed guy at miami, plus we've gone to a more big10 style under les (more power, less speed). i don't know who is responsible for the philosophy, but i just wish we'd go for more speed
we've looked downright slow on D the past 2 years

have you ever seen the workouts the team does to increase speed and quickness? Because I can tell you that the team has plenty of drills designed to do both.

then they're either ineffective or we don't recruit the talent that we think we do
