if our defense plays like it did vs Alabama, we will be able to let brennan get reps.
Is it worth the risk or not in regards to W's? The defense changes that calculation to yes if playing very good to excellent.

See, there's the rub, my friend.
If Brennan's low was as high as Etling's ceiling, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Look, I hope Brennan becomes All-American, but LSU has been waiting for the light to come on for a Miles recruited QB for 11 years. Do you really think that O's first week on the job offer to another QB was a mistake? They know what they have. They need what AL has.
Watching Etling struggle in scrimmages, it was apparent they are very aware of his limitations, and we're giving Brennan ample opportunity to win the job. If you know what you're looking at, it should be very apparent how handicapped Canada is with our QB situation. Certainly Brennan will improve some, but the fact he couldn't win this job with the bar so low is a huge red flag to me.

I would like to see them recruit 3 qbs a year every year until they find a really good one. Etling has shown alot of heart and played really great in spots but its just not good enough. Brennan is going to need to get much bigger and stronger before i buy into him being the solution. Just need to over recruit this position. Targeting a single player is not a good solution.

We'll see Etling starting every game (barring injury) for the rest of the season but wouldn't be suprised if we saw a dose of Brennan in there. If we're up say 38-10 against Arky, or along those lines, we'll see him get some reps.

You win out go 10-3. You put up a ton of points on the Pigs, Hillbillies, and Collies. You tell every recruit "The only missing piece is you!"
and if we can create solid leads, Brennan can get some quality time as well.
