But let's face it, if the Tennessee QB delivers a fairly well-thrown fade route, Hunter is going to come down with the ball - it doesn't matter who is tagging him. He will outjump Simon by a good 8 inches.
And good cornerback technique can still prevent that play ... you don't need to get to the ball, just keep the receiver from getting both hands on it. A well timed strip of one arm will force the receiver to make the play one-handed. If he can do that, then more power to him.

Two balls in the spring game were well thrown that I guarantee a normal CB wouldn't be able to make a play on. Simon's long arms allowed him to make the play. I'm not sure they were perfect passes...I'd have to watch again but they definitely were well thrown.

Physical limitations will get TM in trouble with his aggressive nature. It happened a few times last year. I would feel more comfortable if they did a rotation with Simon/TM unless TM just blows it up in coverage. Not saying he is bad at it, just bigger WRs will have a easier job trying to abuse him. The limited time I've seen Simon play, he really shocks me at how well he moves. I never thought we'd keep him at CB being that big. He was lights out in spring game and was very good in coverage last year. I like his nickel abilities too and I'm not sure anyone can do those as good as him.

A good nickelback is worth a lot more than one might think. See Danny McCray covering slot recevers 3 years ago. (And to be fair to DMcCray, his natural position was safety, not NB)
