What about stealing 3rd when the ball was in play for a dispute that never happened?

It is a live ball, the runners can do what they want….if LSU chose to step off and try and get the out, that play will then void any chance to appeal home. I know there were two outs, but in the chance they don’t get the runner out, then LSU could not appeal home. It was a very smart play by Messina, and a very legal play
