We better enjoy it. I have a feeling the party's over for awhile with the emergence of a stronger SEC West.
NICE MR. HOMER!!!!!!!

No, I am right. Technically its a 3 way tie. Same as in the Big 12 South last year. All were Division champs but tie breaker only determines who goes to the title game.
Same as with Ole Piss in 2003. They technically got a share of the SEC West title eventhough we beat them head to head.

Not saying this proves my point but it's all I can find...I still can't imagine LSU even arguing this nonsense. I bet you money Les Miles will be saying it though.
SEC Divisional Tie-Breaker
In the event of a tie for the division championship, the following procedures will be used to break all ties to determine the SEC Football Championship Game representative. All Conference versus Conference Games (both division and non-division) will be counted in the Conference Standings.
A. TWO-TEAM TIE
•Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
•Records of the tied teams within the division.
•Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
•Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents.
•Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
•Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
•The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
B. THREE (OR MORE) TEAM TIE
•(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
•Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
•Record of the tied teams within the division.
•Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
•Overall record vs. non-division teams.
•Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
•Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
•The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

Again, those are tie-breakers for the SEC Championship game. That and only that.
I don't want us to claim it, but technically Miles can. It's sad.

Come on guys, do we really give a shite about finishing 2nd in the west? wgaf?

I think its funny. In 10 years we've only not been 2nd or better 1 time (last season).

SEC West after Ole Miss goes down. While it doesn't feel right...
While so many bitch and moan that LSU can't beat H. Nutt (although any sane Ranter would agree we sorta defeated ourselves last week), today's beat-down is further proof that Nutt's teams play their best when they're underdogs and/or spoilers.
Ole Piss was on the cover of Sports Illustrated's pre-season college football issue, but it didn't take long for them to lose their ridiculous No. 4 ranking when S. Carolina took 'em. Several O. Miss players (and Nutt himself) admitted the pressure and expectations that accompany such a high ranking was a factor.
Does today's result make LSU's goal-line stand at Miss. St. more impressive? Probably not to some, but it does to me. Oh, btw, we defeated them 30-24. This gives us a little extra something to play for as bowl-game selections near their conclusion.

The fact we needed that goal line stand was embarassing. MSU is a decent team, but the fact our coaching staff had its head in its asses all game was ridiculous.
It was Mullen's staff's 4th game with these players, and the team was still learning and developing for them. They are 11 games in now and developed.
We had the more experienced team and coaching staff, and needed a miracle to win. That's not impressive. PERIOD. Bama destroyed them. Arky destroyed them.

Fair enough, but we needed a stop & we got it. I agree w/you about LSU's coaching gaffes.

Says you.
You said they were "decent," but a few sentences later, they're now "developed?" MSU has improved, but they weren't expected today to beat Ole Piss by 2 touchdowns and hang 41 on them (the most points scored by the Bulldogs in the 106-year-old series since a 41-14 victory in 1917 It was also the most points Ole Miss has given up this season.
What was your take on No. 2 and 12-0 Alabama needing almost 59 minutes last night to take its first lead and finally knock off Auburn by 5 points? LSU beat Auburn 31-10. Now Auburn's 7-5 w/5 conf. losses.
