He accepted the Miami job on 12/25/04, and coached through the bowl game on 1/1/05. In other words, he gave LSU the maximum possible time to find a replacement for the 2005 season that started 9 months later.
The Miami job did not open until mid-December that year, and he was not offered the job until after that. It's like he's expected to have the "courtesy" to leave in November for a job that wasn't available.

I think Miles is 3-1 coming out a bye, we did not have a bye week his first year 2005. Thanks to Katrina.
