Pocic will be good no doubt, but for his first start he had trouble with all the shifting and stunts by Wisconsin's D line. Also had trouble getting off defenders and attacking more downfield. Not easy to play the center position.

Porter was most likely suspended, so it was his fault then. Pocic will get better with each game, but at the very least we needed Porter for the depth, and definitely his experience and chemistry with the O line.

After watching the game again I concur. Pocic will get better as the season progresses.

We needed QT to be healthy and Bain to not be suspended. Malachi would have helped us tremendously considering our receivers were shitting on their secondary when they weren't holding.

Pocic was going to start anyway. He needs to play to get better.

Because Porter wasn't going to be available. Porter was a solid center last year, no matter how many people think otherwise. It seems obvious that Miles was trying to instill confidence in Pocic since he's already know Porter wasn't going to play. IMO you'll see Porter take back the spot fairly soon, but he definitely has to work for it.

After rewatching the game, Wisconsin's Oline got out on our LBs much better than our Oline did.

I think Porter is the better option as well. Pocic will be a better player one day. Just not this season. Plus C isn't his natural position

Pocic will be better at the tackle position. . I don't think he played a whole lot if center in high school

I thought the same. I also thought EP played pretty good for his first start at center.

The TE's need to improve. Dropped pass, fumble, missed blocks.

This sounds like you watched the wisky zone scheme, listened to the announcers talk about punching and releasing the the second level, and assumed LSU runs the same scheme. But they primarily run man blocking schemes which are the reason shifting fronts gave them problems. Shifting fronts does not affect zone nearly as much, and the center's job in a 3-4 (center will be nose covered) is simply to block the nose or down block the pull. Not to get downfield

Nothing against the kid...

Where exactly would his presence have "helped us tremendously"? Were we lacking playmaking WR's in the game you watched? If Dural, Diarse or Quin had been replaced with MD what exactly would we have gained? I understand that the kid has tremendous upside but your statement is kinda silly.

whisky's dline was stunting (and grabbing) our olineman preventing them from reaching the next level. When a dline is space-eating, its almost impossible to get to the next level. Especially when they know its run.

Center is definitely not Pocic's natural position. He was a big reason why we struggled with their D-line shifts.
