would like to here from some current band members, about what the insiders think? after seeing them up close at the peach bowl fan fest, they seem like a bunch of "hand me" downs, kind of like "tuxedo rentals" that adjust to fit "any size".

no band gets new uniforms every year. they have different sizes of them but they pants are adjustable...

the ones we have now arent too new, theyve gone through a few years...i think every 15-20 years they get completely new uniforms and we are somewhere in the middle of that

you do realize that we cut of the number accepted into the band at 325... more than 325 people try out and you have to get the best possible fit for everyone...then they have cut night and some people have to return their uniform back to lsu....if a person's uniform doesnt fit it is their responsibility to get it fixed, even though all uniforms are checked by the band tri-force ( DLM,RK,FW)

I'll say this for the current uniforms, they look good and they are cooler--I mean lower in temperature during September--than the ones we used to wear in my day.
That being said, NOTHING looked better than the white crossbelts with the brass buckle on a purple jacket from the 70s and early 80s. When the GBFTL took the gridiron in those things, you would have sworn that Napoleon Bonaparte was taking the field to kick your arse.

i wouldnt say it is orange....it matched pretty closely with LSU's helmet...ive worn it once or twice...defiantly gold and purple...( they are both darker than your average gold and purple because it makes the color richer, thus making us look bigger and nicer)

they are supposed to get dry cleaned every week
I think they try to keep it 10-12 year cycles.
