He won't, but the problem is 98% of this fanbase expects him to be. With no running game. Or O-line. Or competent playcalling.

he's a better QB now(a true soph) than flynn ever was.

Oh yeah I forgot someone said they do not like a player who happens to be black. Because we live in Louisiana that means they 100% mean it as a racist thing.

I would go 65% but it pertains to all sides.

if LSU had a 100 yard rusher in just SOME games this past season, we'd have put up a lot more points.

The new pasing game coordinator (new OC once Crowton takes the La Tech or East Carolina job) will determine if Chris Garrett or one of the new guys gets the nod over JJ. JJ can be much better but he has taken some hellacious hits in the 2 yrs he has played and can't help but expect more as poorly as the OL blocked. His game is the quick short outlet pass or the play action and throwing on the run. we've all seen it, why can't the coaches eh?

I agree with this. However, Flynn was a much smarter QB than Jefferson (no?). Nothing against JJ but the post was in response to a comment on Flynn being a "middle of the road" QB. I just didn't agree with this. Dude stepped up big when he got his shot.

I dunno...

Jefferson has a higher GPA (4.0) and threw way less interceptions as a soph than flynn did as a RS senior.

2009: 771 (435 rushing/336 passing)
2008: 886 (495 Rushing/391 passing)
2007: 1054 (612 Rushing/442 passing)
2006: 818 (450 Rushing/368 Passing)
2005: 869 (509 rushing/360 passing)

That is the amount of offensive plays since Les Miles first year. 2009 was a bad year as LSU offense was not very good to gain many first downs.

2009: 226
2008: 254
2007: 316
2006: 283
2005: 255

LSU Rushing Game
2009: 122.77 Yards Per Game
2008: 166.77 Yards Per Game
2007: 214.14 Yards Per Game
2006: 165.77 Yards Per Game
2005: 150.08 Yards Per Game

LSU running game did not help Jefferson out much this season as it forced LSU into many 3rd and Long situations that they did not convert.

Jefferson has his issues at QB but he is not the only reason for LSU anemic offense. He is just easy to place blame on because he plays the most recognizable position on field.

Why can't some of you understand that last year all we had was JJ. he led up to a 9 win season as a 19 year old. How hard is it for you people that hate JJ to go look at our rushing stats. we ran for under 100 yards 5 times. that is crazy, and you wanna put it on JJ's shoulders. We only ran for over 170 yards twice, ull and auburn. we ran for under 50 yards 3 times. i know most of you think that teams put 8 in the box, but that simply isn't true. Go back and look. most team stopped our rushing game with a conventional 7 man front. Whether you wanna acknowledge it or not, JJ was a very serviceable qb this year. With a good running game, would've been really good. don't come back with us not being able to run because of no passin attack because you are suppose to run to set up the pass. not the other way. you need to get over it. JJ is our qb. stop makin yourself and all of us miserable

It's easy to not throw as many INTs when you sit on the ball and never throw it anywhere.

It's easy for opponents to stop the run when they don't have to worry about the QB burning them with down field passes. Eight in the box stops the run until the QB can make the defense pull those guys out of the run zone.

Get back with me when JJ leads LSU to a National Championship and becomes an NFL QB. If you don't think Matt Flynn has better pocket presence than JJ, made better decisions, etc., I honestly don't know what more to say. JJ will have an opportunity to show us when he can do. He's been getting a pass (even from me) for his performance up to this point because of his youth, inexperience, and poor offensive schemes. He's been the best we've had available up to this point. We'll see what happens in the spring.

Since some of you have have such a hard on for comparing qbs, why dont yall compare those that actually mean something.
As in those that are playing today.
