No one can make the agrument that Shepard isn't a way better runner than JJ and not to mention Ware too! No offense killed us last game and that is why the best should always play. No more skating along trying to get by.

Who thinks Russell Shepard WANTS to play QB?

He has the skills to make it in the NFL as a WR similar to Percy Harvin.. that is his best bet. I think Shepard prefers to play WR

He could take JJ's place at qb on those drives and play receiver during JL drives.

or have you ever heard of josh cribbs, Brad smith?

but its safe to say RS isn't better throwing the ball than Ware

Is that a joke. The Ware pass was severely underthrown. A better DB than Auburn could put on the field would probably have intercepted it.

His best chance at scoring is actually going off tackle on some kind of read option/counter play, but he doesn't have enough meat on his bones to take the physical pounding the number of plays he would have to run each weekend to finally break one of those

Good point, and chris johnson doesnt have the meat on his bones to take the physical pounding to be a 20+ carry back in the NFL

Nobody is looking for shep to play RB, a couple of snaps out of the RB position would be nice, but its undenieble that RS is most valuable/effective to an offense running a read option or any option play for that matter, certainly more effective than JJ is.

Honestly, the truth is that RS isn't all he was hyped up to be. He's elusive, but not so much faster than everyone else where his speed makes that big of a difference

When has he ever got caught from behind in the open field??

RS could be an elite college Qb similar to Dixon, White, Robinson, etc etc. However, our staff never wanted him to really play QB so he asked to switch because a player of his caliber wants to be on the field.

Now one year later he is trying to get accustomed to a new position. He doesn't look great, but he doesn't look terrible also.

rs is our most explosive offensive player. the problem is he never gets the pass in stride or in a position to make a play. the passes are terrible and everyone knows what is coming. that is not a recipe for success.

rs is a superstar with a decent qb and a good oc.
