Wait a minute, after my inadvertent faux pas I was expecting to be crucified but where’s the tolerance for an LSU Freshman class of ‘47 trying for the first time to insert a pic? Can you show a little patience with a 92 year old retired Marine captain? Maybe instead help me with instructions, or references, rather than ragging me with disparaging, nefariousness and unnecessary post

Daniel I am a veteran and hv a little age on me as well. Thank you for your service sir. Word of warning, better hv thick skin on the rant some will chew you up like piranha. Lol

Anytime, my friend, anytime. Come see me in Willow Spring NC anytime. Anytime any of you. I've a nice size spread out here and keep lots of Bud Lite on hand, among other adult libations. We'll toss a few and maybe someone can teach an 'ole dog' how to post pics properly on TD.

I believe I said your post had no context.. how about you explain your random picture rather than wasting a thread. I don’t care how old you are or if you’ve served or not. How the hell does that have anything to do with lsu
Drown yourself, prick.

Thanks, swampcat, but as a Marine spending over a year warring in Korea (1952-1953) and 13 months on the DMZ in Vietnam (1967-1968) in the thick of things, suffering 500 casualties a week, earning a V in a medal for combat valor, I can take the nastiness here. But this morning, after all these years of trying to get on TD, I’m not sure the wait has been worthwhile. Only so if some of these uncalled for, vile, juvenile language, questioning posts I see are representative of LSU grads, I’m prone tomorrow to remove the LSU Alumni sticker from my SUV. But thanks, I appreciate the good advice.

Aw, thanks, but he may be correct. My bad. The thread probably should have read:

Was our last need (for) linebacker just filled?

Daniel, don’t do that. I think that you deservedly received far more positive posts than negative. Obviously there are always those like whitemamba16 (16 must refer to his IQ) but if you will notice that in all of his multiple posts in this thread he did not receive one single upvote. Pretty telling right there. As they say, when you are digging yourself into a hole, quit digging! Keep posting as it is always good to hear from heroes! Lots of good people come from Eunice and spent many nights playing music at the Purple Peacock back in 68-72. Thank you for your service.

Oh, the Peacock Lounge, Second street, just off Laurel, right? Remember its opening. Placed many a bet in the back room. You must remember hearing of Joe Nagata, from Eunice, back in my day, ‘47, punter on the LSU football team? Spent lots of time with Joe in "G" barracks where footballers camped out then.

That’s one way to describe the horrid, overly burdensome process.

Just had a chance to read Joe Nagata’s story. Very interesting. I only keep up with my friend Freddie Fruge in Eunice but loved the time I spent there.

Marc and I share uncles...years ago spent many a Saturday morning at the Center listening to old timers (and some youngsters now) playing away.

Do you know J. Courville? He is a little older than you. In Eunice…

No, left Eunice in 1947 for LSU, LA in 1948 for USMC and rarely went back. If he's older than me, God bless him...I'm 92!

Mr. Savoy turned me on to him a few months back and I went down a rabbit hole reading up on Joe Nagata. Well worth the time to do so. There is not a lot of information out there about the pre-Billy Cannon days, but the little there was gave some insight to what he went thru and accomplished and it is an amazing story.
