Rude. Racist. Just a bitch in general. Will's real dad may have deserted him (probably bc of Vy) but he would be a better person to be around.

the subtle anti-white messaging in most of those 90s black tv shows was pretty insidious.

Always seemed kinda weird that she was such a horrible parent (single parent, go figure) that she ships her only child off across the country to live with someone else just so she didn't have to deal with him. And she does this after he gets in "one little fight" playing basketball.
God forbid you actually try being a parent and getting your child to act like a civil human being. It's like she was sitting there waiting for her son to get into trouble so she could ship him off and not have to be bothered with parenting anymore. I'm surprised she didn't pull the trigger to kick him out of her life after he was just late for school one morning or something. But then again, I guess that doesn't fit within the rhyme scheme of the song.

This show doesn't have much of that, if any at all. The rest of the family embraced Janice's honkie significant other and called out Vy's racist bitch arse.
