A in the 30's shooting percentage for veteran players is respectable?

I'm thinking those are 3 point percentages.

Yes Coleman and Hickey are both 35% from 3 and Martin is 33 so yes from 3 that is respectable and u got to think open looks off double teams would improve that percentage ie: beginning of the Kentucky game when JOB delivered the ball out of the double team quickly and shavon knocked down 2 or 3 threes to begin the game

so yes from 3 that is respectable

If you are only speaking about threes, then I agree.

37% from two and 59% from the line for a veteran PG is a problem for any team to overcome.

The NIT is no player's or team's goal (at least it shouldn't be). While us fans can't "fathom" why the team wouldn't be fired up to play in the tournament, we aren't the ones who have been working, practicing, etc. daily for 5 months. I could certainly see more than a few players just saying "I'm exhausted. We didn't make the NCAAT, so I'd rather just call it a year and get ready for a new run next season." This isn't unlike a college football team making it to some lower-tier bowl game. It can become just as much of an obligation to play in the game as an opportunity. Again, this isn't specific just to LSU. Now if there is a lack of motivation during the regular season, that is a big time cause for concern.

I agree with this and I really like your analogy about a lower tier bowl game in football.

Frankly, I don't see the team (as a whole) being very fired up to play in the game

I hope you're wrong

I also believe that the very predictable offense in which we literally give the ball to JOB every single time down has cause some players to almost Tap out.

I agree with this to an extent.

In some ways it will be better when JOB goes pro

I definitely think Mickey and Martin will develop and improve at a much faster rate without JOB around.

And there are some that feel the team will be better next year solely because JOB3 will no longer be on the team?

I'm not sure about this. Maybe. But it was CJJ's call. But I do think that Mickey and Martin's development was hampered a little by using JOB so exclusively. It contributed to our inconsistency this season IMO because if JOB struggled or got in foul trouble we lost our identity.

Every team knew how to guard us, they throw it to JOB we double..... and instead of us countering that with another option... we said "o you're gonna double that's ok we're gonna throw it to him anyway"

What also makes it frustrating is that this style of BB is not what I thought CJJ preferred.

Me too. I was very surprised.........and maybe some of the players were too. Perhaps felt disappointed or let down. Less exciting than they anticipated.

Also, the comment about the team not being present for the announcement may have been motivated by the very slight chance LSU was getting an invite. The chances were extremely remote they would get one.

I didn't think it was remote once Tennessee was expected to get in NCAAT. NIT bracketologists were in agreement and had us as 5 seeds Friday evening on.

Also, it's usual for NCAA bubble teams to all get together and await their fate. They're often shown on TV waiting. So I don't know why it would be any different for potential NIT teams

Maybe they were given the choice, but declined? Seems doubtful to me though.
