...pop quiz: What do you get when you make your talented young quarterback who can run throw down field when he's not ready to? Terrell Pryor.
DING! DING! DING! Watching Pryor in the P-I-P tonight, the hubby 'n I kept comparing the super-hyped Pryor to JJ ... and finding JJ a more settled, reliable 19 yr old starting QB by a stretch.
Yep, JJ lacks consistency and accuracy on his down-the-field passes and methinks he has a tendency to hold onto the ball a tad too long ... BUT he's only started 4 games at the collegiate level, one being a bowl game.
Plus, he'd have to have been deaf, dumb and blind - and he's none of those - not to have seen and heard the fan hate showered on Lee last year when he got tossed in with all those TD intercepts. So I'll cut him some slack on hanging on to the ball a spot too long.
I'd druther have JJ at the helm under center than Pryor from what I've seen to this point ... by a good stretch.

Dunno if you'll succeed much on here, but kudos for plugging away at it!
Sidebar: USC plays Washington in Seattle next week. Given the hostile, loud crowd which greeted LSU last week, one can only assume at least as much, if not even more robust hostility awaits USC next week. I think we'll get a better measure of how improved Washington may be on both sides of the ball post-game ... and at least a bit better gauge of LSU's showing against 'em overall as well. Looking forward to seeing how that one plays out next week in that regard. Just a thought.
In the meanwhile, we're 2-0, which is a helluva lot better than 0-2 or 1-1 and we'll hopefully continue to improve on both sides of the ball each week.

I think Washington will come to play against USC but I wouldn't put too much into the outcome. It's not the same game and USC will pass on them which is something we should have done more of. And once USC jumps out on them the crowd is gone and the moral is lost.
