No. I don't think size will be an issue.

This team's fatal flaw is and has always been guard play.

I love Skylar, but he isn't point guard.

Smart is a more natural guard, but he is just too erratic.

Vandy played exceptional. That's what I saw. Three point masters.

We played awful defense. They got to the basket at will. Not going to win many road games playing like that

All true - Vandy played very well.

But they also outhustled our guys to every loose ball and rebound, worked harder on the defensive end, and generally played with MUCH greater intensity and energy.

They were hot and LSU was cold. But they won because they wanted it more.

This is a recurring problem with this LSU team. Focus and hustle go away for whole games or significant parts of games. Part of it has to do with a shallow bench - but much of it is attributable to coach and team personality/chemistry.

It's something Wade needs to fix.

Vandy likely played their best game all year, if not the past couple of years. It was just unfortunate that it was against LSU
Also, LSU didn’t help themselves down the stretch so there is some blame to be had there

I told my wife I felt confident down at half b.c. there is no way Vandy shoots that well again in the second half. There is a reason Vandy has zero SEC wins in two years and its because when they do play well it's never consistent for 40 minutes.

I was wrong.

Thanks for that. Curious your thoughts on our size. Do you think the lack of size may bite us, particularly in tournament play? Size doesn’t seem to have the impact it once did in the modern game

LSU's lack of size inside hasn't had much of an impact, if any at all. They are one of the best teams in the country in scoring 2 point FG's. They are one of the best rebounding teams in all of the country. (Except Miss. St) In games vs. teams that clearly had a size advantage inside LSU has been fine. They won the rebounding battle and points in the paint battle vs. USC and Florida, teams that have two 6'10+ frontcourt starters.

This team does a lot of things well. But they are TERRIBLE defending the three and (to a lesser but related extent) guard penetration.

LSU is 205th in the nation is ppg allowed. They are 122nd in % points allow via 2 point baskets. However, they are 327th in % of points allowed via 3 point baskets. Point being, teams aren't killing LSU on the inside. They are doing it from the outside
