I talked to a USC fan the other day and she said they are so fed up with Clay Helton. She said they'd trade him for O (or just about anyone) in a heartbeat. The only solace they have at the moment is that UCLA is awful.

Idk if Orgeron could ever have the same success on the West Coast as he is currently at LSU. It is a different world out there and he will always be an outsider there.

I'm not saying Helton is a great coach, but a Rose Bowl win, a conference title, and a couple of top-10 finishes in his first two full seasons isn't anything to spit on.

Well being that while at USC he was recruiting the hell out of California I think he would be fine.

I don't buy that at all. He spent an important bulk of his career there. He called USC "family". Their band created a specific chant for him during his interim stint. Before Les called him, he said he was open to going back there one day.
He wasn't an outsider, and wouldn't be had he stayed.
