Baseball since 2000
6 College World Series appearances, two National Championships, 5 SEC championships, 3 outright conference championships, 11 NCAA tournament appearances and a brand new ALEX BOX STADIUM - SKIP BERTMAN FIELD!!!

Football since 2000
4 SEC championships, 6 SEC West championships, 13 Bowl Games (5 of which were BCS bowl games), 3 BCS National Championship Game appearances, 2 BCS National Championships, 133 victories, 37 losses, 8 bowl game victories, and 5 bowl game losses.

Men's Basketball since 2000
3 regular season conference championships, 5 NCAA Tournament appearances, 2 Sweet Sixteen appearances, 1 Elite Eight appearance, 1 Final Four appearance, and a new coach who shows extreme potential.

Women's Basketball since 2000
3 regular season conference championships, 1 conference tournament championship, 13 NCAA/AIAW Tournament appearances, 8 Sweet Sixteen appearances, 7 Elite Eight appearances, 5 Final Four appearances, and a new coach who shows great potential (and not bad to look at, either).

To put things into perspective, LSU was better than all but eight (8) of the following teams this year. We went 0-2 in Omaha, but it was against 2 of the top 8 teams listed here. THAT is one hell of an accomplishment!

It truly is a great time to be a fan of the LSU Tigers! Many teams out there would sell their souls to have a season like LSU Baseball just had. We tied for all time wins in a season and even though it hurts to end that hell of a season the way they did, it hurts the players and coaches so much more than it hurts us fans. So let us remember it is, afterall, a game and just that - a game. It's fun to play and it's fun to watch. Baseball can be wild sometimes and this year we saw that. The players were not prepared for the Omaha experience. They were inexperienced on that stage. Next year should be more succcessful.

Will we win it all next year? Who knows. Will we even make it to Omaha next year? I'd say yes but you never know. That's baseball. When you're hot, your hot. When you're not, you're not. We were hot the whole year until the CWS. It's just the way it is.

Let's pull ourselves together and be glad for the dominant season we just watched our Tigers play, watch the rest of the College World Series, pull for whoever you want to root for (I'll be rooting for Mississippi State), and get ready for the upcoming Football season!

Who's going to Dallas?

Thanks for actually posting something good about our team.

This probably won't go over well with the tards.

Jesus, fans spend real money to travel and support the team and we lost. Quit acting like a hero and give people a reasonable "time for grieving". It's the day after.

I was as pissed as the rest of us watching the game yesterday but I've watched enough baseball seasons come and go to know that this sort of thing happens to the best teams. It's happened to us in the past, it happened to us yesterday, and it will happen again. Multiple times! But mixed in there will be more championships. It's just the way it is.
I wanted to go all the way so bad. So, so bad. But damnit, we didn't. That's the team's fault but they're only human. They're not immune to mistakes and neither are any of us! We've all fricked up at work at the worst possible time.

IT HAPPENS!

No kidding. Obviously they wanted to win it more than anyone on this board and had a hell of a lot more vested in it. People on here act like making it to Omaha means nothing. Sure, it was short of the ultimate goal of winning it all, but Vanderbilt didn't even get to Omaha and they were ranked in the top 3 or so for most of the season.

LSU got a ton of positive light from the announcers during both the regional and super regional, which will only help us in the years to come.

I'm looking forward to another good season next year, with a successful football season sandwiched inbetween.

I spent real money to go to the BCSNCG. I also stayed until the very end. You don't know what a "bad taste" tastes like until you leave the super dome hearing Rammer Jammer.

Get the frick over it..its college kids dude.

I couldn't afford to go to that game but my brother-in-law and his wife went. They spent over $3,500 on two tickets alone and said it was the biggest waste of money they've ever experienced but it was also still a cool experience to see THEIR team play for a national championship. Even if their team completely flopped from the beginning.

Fans don't waver in support of their teams in bad times. Fans continue to be fanatic about their teams no matter what.

I spend lots of money on baseball and football tickets each year and of course I get upset when we lose (regardless of how that loss came about) but damnit, I'll still continue to buy my tickets!

Ditto. I drive in from Houston for 3 baseball series each year and I get season football tickets. Wouldn't trade the experiences for anything in the world.

Yeah you should have put up basketball as well.

Still no SECT title since '81, but a Final Four is way better anyway. Also, two SEC regular season titles.

TDsngumbo...

True Tiger fan. Like to have a beer with you...

And I only see it getting better:

Football - one of best coaching staffs in the country and a Top 5 recruiting powerhouse....
100,000 fans in DV in 2014. Top 5-10 caliber....

Basketball - An LSU man recruiting tall, rangy, athletic, fast-breaking players. Many Tourney appearances in our future......

Baseball - Reload. Just need to replace Eades, Cotton, Rhymes, and Katz. Omaha still the goal...

Track, Women's Basketball, Softball, Gymnastics, Golf, etc. - will continue to dominate......

Whoa, whoa, WHOA. You're thinking way too rationally for this board. GTFO with that.

I was just thinking (and this may be just my weird perspective) that eight teams made it to the CWS. That means 8 survived a long season of baseball, then Regionals, then Super-regionals, and then made it to the CWS. If we could make a tree (or hierarchy) of all the Division 1 teams and put that in perspective, that means that these 8 teams beat a multitude of the wannabees. Although LSU went 57-11 in actual games, they also sort of got credit for the hundreds of other games in the tree beneath them. Funny thing, LSU also beat Mississippi State 2x, and MSU is still in it. I'd say LSU has done good to be where it is now. Sorry, but this is the Rant and I can think weird like a lot of others...

Oh, BTW, I think we have a great array of coaches.

Dude...anonymous SEC football coach dropped the bomb. Programs on a steady decline.
