i just want us to get back to our normal rotation with hickey starting.

it's time he gets out of CJJ's doghouse.

Hickey is just so good in the open court, it's IMHO the one constant that gives us an advantage over alot of teams.

Because our half-court offense is pretty mediocre. We don't really have any guys who can create against better teams and until JOB3 gets better at handling double-teams and making them pay we're gonna continue to struggle in half-courst sets.

Hickey's the solution to that. Let's hope he does what it takes to get back full time in good graces.

but Stringer was in when I got the feed 3 min in. So Collins is projected to start over Stringer who was arguably the best Tiger last game?

Collins and Stringer both started bro

From the tone of Johnny's last remarks I would think that he will not start Hickey once again and it will be Collins, Stringer and Carmouche. Of course Hickey will see a lot of playing time.

And isn't it amazing how Stringer is such an important part of the team once again. Remember pre-season how many people were saying they hoped he never got in a game or even that he would transfer so we could give out another scholarship?

Got to hand it to the guy. He is a fighter and has worked hard. Fact is also that the freshmen have yet to come through like I thought they would. They have done well in spots but haven't given us that consistency that we need. Collins, who was the most unlikely of the three, looks like he might be breaking out now but it is still too few games to say.

agreed

he's always got the defense on their heels in transition.

I like Andre. I think he represents the program well. I think he's always going to be inconsistent and he's always going to take some bad shots and make a couple of bad decisions with the ball.

But I think we have enough guards who can play just enough so that we don't have to keep him on the court and hope he plays through the bad stretches. I think we had to do that alot the last two years, but we have a bit more flexibility in that regard now.

Why does JOB thinks he has to bull his way to the basket every time it doesn't matter if he is doubled or tripled team he rarely kicks the ball back

JOB makes much smarter decisions than he did last year. Remember how when he would get doubled it equaled an instant turnover? He kicks the ball out way more now, but still not enough

I hope experience can take hold in this regard. He really has some good post skills but you are correct cowboy, he either trys to bulldoze the double or settle for 15-foot fade-aways and even 3-pointers.

He just need to learn some patience. Make them pay for the doubles with good passing and make some hay from that later.

I think he's trying, and will get better with experience. He used to be a black hole like Tyrone Black in that when he got the ball it wasn't coming back out.

He's passing it back out a bit more, he just has to get better at reading the defense and timing when and where to go with the ball.

oddly, ADP seems to stay out of foul trouble more than JOB However, I don't think he defends quite as tough yet as he can simply use his size to alter shots

Hell if he gets one early I'd sit him the majority of the 1st half if it's still close. Give Tuba and Coleman more minutes.

If we get into foul trouble early we are fricked

It's because he never leaves his feet and just sticks his arms up hoping to get a piece I'm waiting for ADP to foul the shite out of someone honestly

I'd like to see Coleman get more minutes. I think because of his length and athleticism we'll need him more down the line.

I know he's got some limitations, but I haven't given up on him. I think he's transitioning back to the post after spending all of last year trying to learn the wing, and also he's coming off of an early season injury that limited his preparation for the season.

I still think he can help us down the road.

I forget which game it was but he sort of booted up to someone after a tied ball. It was good to see him lose some of that timidness. I love how you can see not only his skills develop and improve but his general demeanor and confidence on the court.

I'm not sure who on the staff specifically is working with the post guys but he deserves a ton of credit for being able to get ADP to look like a basketball player, the improvement of JOB, and playing with an undersized Coleman who is doing great. That's not to take away from those guys individually who I'm sure are also working hard and putting in the time

Coleman plays like he's 6'9 220. He really outplays himself in the post honestly, but I ain't complaining
