Last nights win against Louisiana Tech was an ugly but important win. Our guys showed that even when things are not firing on all cylinders offensively, they could pull things together on the defensive side and overcome that. Nothing was falling from behind the arc, hitting only 5 out of 24 three point attempts. Where we were usually solid at the free-throw line, we barely broke even at 11 of 19 free throw attempts. Overall, we made only 45% from the field. We were even outrebounded by Tech 42-38. Yet our guys pulled it out in the last six minutes by capitalizing on Tech turnovers and scoring on a 17-9 run in the last 6 minutes.

Ugly win but a confidence building win. We will learn and improve. Will Wade will make sure of that.

Got to find a way to shoot better from 3 and defend better from 3.

Then the team will be tough to beat against stiffer opponents

Tremont has shot pretty well from 3 point land but he has seemed a little tentative. Maybe he’s just finding his groove or he just hasn’t really HAD to with so many other weapons. Once he gets going though, our other weapons will get even more deadly.
