It looks like we'll have the added excrement of having a hurricane threatening us for the first game.

Interesting.....

Maybe he believes this storm will become the hypothetical hypercane and engulf the entire Gulf coast

I personally think it would be further along than that...again if it is off the tip of Cuba by Saturday...it could be 2-3 days off the coast. To me the low sheer and warm conditions will allow for this thing to "bomb" out. Now tell me, with the history being what it is, do you think local and federal officials will not be going nuts with a Cat 5 sitting between Yucatan and Cuba? I'm not saying anything definitive other than monitor the situation. I don't live down their anymore...and I'd be pissed with a cancelled game, but it is what it is.

And to add, the NHC track will change from what it is. Just be aware.

If it would threaten the Northern Gulf coast, Saturday's game would most definately be effected. Remember, evacuations would need to start 2 days ahead of landfall. This will be a cat 5 if it does not hit too much lane. The GFDL model has been thought of a somewhat reliable model over the years. And it has it right in the middle of the gulf pointed towards LA. Not creating a panic, but a Cat 5 is something that deserves attention.

JUST MONITOR.

Who the hell is this? Jim friggin Cantore?
Yeah Jim, we'll monitor it. Keep us posted will ya?

Never Friggin mind then. Go to the damn game, don't friggin' do anything.

I'm just a dude who happen to be seeing a storm very similiar to Katrina bombing out. The ones who dealt with Katrina the best were the ones that had knowledge of it the earliest. Models were saying what the damn NHC knew on Friday two days earlier.

IT COULD BE NOTHING, but I sure the hell wouldn't take the time to be posting about it if it didn't worry me.

I appreciated your post. Just to throw it out there, check out the OT to post that kind of thing next time. The Rant can't handle these sort of things half the time. If youre going to post an update about a storm or something to that extent, just post "it might rain."

Can't predict mother nature. So, lets just say ,"Hopefully" that it does not make it before or on gameday.
