Does anyone know why Dalrymple was closed at the gates, and even those with a parking pass were made to turn on State Street? That has never been done. And then there's the little matter of the metal detectors at gate 12. We almost missed the kickoff and we got to the gate at 2:00.

I’ll be emailing anybody I can about the situation at gate 12, which had the potential to turn dangerous, in addition to being a big delay.

I went through 9 and it nearly took us 30 min to get through the line. 8 mags are unacceptable with that many people. Superdome puts over 30 at gate C and over 20 at G Gates A & E have 12 and the small gates have 6. And this is for 70k people, not 102k.

Whoever was in charge of Dalrymple for BRPD on Saturday was either new or out of their mind.

We have a pass and had to do the same thing. Only to get to Highland and they were letting any cars through on Highland. Pass or not. Not to mention the free lots at U High weren’t even full.

Then after the game they had all cars on Dalrymple west of Highland forced south on Highland with no place to go other than to turn left onto Raphael Semmes or S. Campus and go back into the traffic on Dalrymple.

Not sure WTF was going on but it was atrocious. First time in 15 years of parking off Dalrymple on campus that this has been done.

Spoke to Guest Services. They have been receiving a LOT of calls. There was a power failure on College Drive which made the lights an issue. So, instead of getting more police out there, they decided to close Dalrymple because of the extra traffic leaving College. In hind sight, they realize it was a bad decision.
As to the metal detectors, they also recognize the huge mistake make, and will not have them there again this year. Next year, if they have them, they know they have to have a lot more.
