Auburn 1997...esp the next defensive series after we took the lead on Cecil's TD scamper.

Since the mid-80's, LSU best series have been against Florida and Auburn, especially Auburn. So many great games.

It would have been funny to have been matched up against Florida in the '97 SECCG.

You beat me to it!! The Auburn game in 1997 stands as the loudest that I can ever rememeber that stadium getting. Even though we lost, that was probably the single most entertaining football game that I have ever attended. I had nothing left when we walked back to the dorms that night.

1998 Georgia was the loudest.

Why are you confused? The third down Georgia had (after we kicked a field goal to make it 27-28, about 3 minutes left) was the loudest i've everheard it before a play. The whole game was loud in similar fashion.

Nobody on campus really believed this.

Well, my third year on campus arse did. My mistake.

People were making fun of Tepper before he started losing games at LSU because of Illinois's 0-11 season.

I'll agree with this. But my purple and gold glasses still thought we would be better with: Tyler, Faulk, Mealey, good D returning starters, etc

1970 Vs. Ole Miss

1971 vs. Notre Dame

1982 vs. Florida State

1987 vs. Ohio State - even for a day game, it was an intense atmosphere that day.

I purposely left out 1979 vs. USC, since it was such an obvious choice.

I don't know. Maybe I'm blacking it out because the game was such a huge disappointment from start to finish. I'm willing to bet that most people would have been pissed off even if LSU had won.

Yeah, I know. That was sort of the point.

It was my third year on campus too. Who in the name of God were you hanging out with back then?

If one of those last few Hail Marys would have been answered in the NEZ, THAT would have been the REAL "Earthquake Game!"

Most of the games I see being mentioned were when TS had significantly lower capacity than it does today. Just goes to further show that the TS atmosphere is changing. I sat is the Student Section '93-'96 and it was rocking. I sat in the South End Zone '97-'02 and it was rocking. I now sit in the East Upper and I sit around a bunch of soccer moms and kids eating cotton candy. I don't know if the stadium atmosphere has changed or it's just my location but I would get escorted out of the stadium now if I acted like did in SEZ Section 16. I would like to borrow a phrase from Walton and Johnson and call it the "pussification" of Tiger Stadium. We need to bring back the drunk coonasses and rednecks and send the soccer moms to the spa.
