And once again, who's getting them? This isn't the pros, where the GM takes care of football operations, signs/drafts players, etc. This is college. Recruiting is 50% of the game.

Carroll deserves as much credit for his recruiting as Les Miles gets. And, to get back on point, a case could easily be made, as has been done against Miles, that Carroll should be recognized for underachieving after said recruiting efforts.

FWIW, I never said Miles was overrated. Kind of seems people are lumping me in that group.

Screw Pete Carroll. Over rated by far!!! Miles shouldn't be on that list. Period. Weiss (Notre Fricken Dame) is lucky to still have a job. What a bum list.

I would be VERY pleased with another four years of 42-11, 4-0 in bowl games, an SEC championship and an NC. Maybe these guys think we should go 85-21 in an 8 year stretch instead of 84-22 before they'll give Les his due.

I dunno, maybe its me, but I always kinda thought an .800 win rate was pretty effing good. Who knew it was just 'under-performing'?

The fact that Charlie Weis isn't number one, or even on the list, renders it ignorant and

Prolly cuz he is generally not highly rated. Thus, not over-rated.

Where is Pete Carrol? A team that is year in/year out is generally described as the most talented in CFB (and usually generates some "best of all time" discussion at least once during the year), a very weak conference, only one NC, generally one loss a year to a huge underdog...

I think you mean two NC's 80+ wins and nine losses since 2000, 7 straight BCS bowls (6-1), 7 straight 11 or more win seaons. All beginning one year after taking over a mediocre program.

Not even close. They weren't picked to win it 2003 (yet still one the AP title), picked in 2004 (and won it), picked in 2005 (finished 2), not picked in 2006 (finished 4), picked to win it in 2007 (finished 2/3), not picked to win it in 2008 (finished 2/3).

BCS title as in, you know, the championship that's won on the field.

Do you really believe that? Without a playoff, it's still a beauty pageant. If it's really won on the field, then where did Utah lose it last year?

But Les Miles being overrated is a joke.

Agreed. My point is just that Pete Carroll is a heck of a coach, and I imagine USC fans and (most) LSU fans are happy with who they have on the sidelines regardless of what the media or opposing fans think.

Did you stomp your foot when you typed that?

Utah didn't play in the BCS championship -- nothing to lose. No matter how many teams you put in a playoff, 2, 4, 6 or 16, there will be schools, fans, even internet message board posters who feel a particular team was slighted. I'm very comfortable with the fact that Florida had to defeat Oklahoma for the national championship, on the field no less, because they were both better than Utah.

Sometimes I find myself getting fusturated with LES decisions. Last year was a bad year for us and Lse could have made better decisions. I hope that he prove to the world that he is the man!!

Overrated coaches don't demolished their Bowl opponents year in and year out... 4-0 bowl games as a LSU.

There is no way Les Miles should even been on that list.. Someone is really hatin' on that site..

Like when he decided to experiment with a Co-DC arrangement while coming off of a BCS Title and could have had his pick of the litter? I know its well past the time to move on, but that decision was akin to handing the keys to your new Ferrari to your 13yr old and telling them they can use it to learn to drive.

In addition, his clock management skills do leave something to be desired.

The whipping applied to GA Tech should have been a replay of every game in the regular season, making it even more frustrating.

Its Sad But they dont have Bob Stoop, (THE GREAT ONE) Pete Carrol, or Fat frick on there.

Stoops cant win a BCS game to save his life.

When you have that much talent and cant win in the PAC 10. Somethings just not right.

Notre Dame Sucks and their coach is concerned more about Halftime Hamburgers.

I don't think Miles gives a rat's arse what anybody thinks. Nor should anyone else who sports purple and gold. Keep winning...keep the talent flow to Baton Rouge...and NOBODY will care what they write or say about you!

Some college coaches, particularly one prominent one on the West Coast, has been successful in recruiting great players because he has the best team money can buy. There is a huge problem with "institutional control" at USC, and the NCAA just looks the other way. Considering their recruiting tactics, their failure to repeatedly go undefeated and win NC every year makes the guy overrated.
