TJ can't win without a dominating presence in the middle or two very good big men.

TJ's comments can be easily summarized in two words:
WE SUCKED!
WE SUCKED!

basically, they believe that we beat a team in football, so we should beat them in basketball.
The complaining on this board when we lose is nothing compared to most teams in the country.
The comparison to football is not even close. We would have 10 pages worth of complaints if we lost to the number 1 team in the nation there.
Basketball, not so much. I guess we're lucky to have such disinterest in the BBall program? I think we've got it pretty good as far as complaining goes.

DON'T READ if you have a short attention span or cannot believe another poster may offer insight or some sort of debate...
People who say "LSU is not a basketball school" honestly have no clue.
I suppose Arkansas isn't either since they've been worse than us the past decade. They only won a national title and were in three final 4's within 5 seasons.
Do these people who say we're not a basketball school equate that, unintentionally (but equally as ignorant), with most of LSU's fanbase being white? Football gets a pass, despite the average SEC school starting 16/22 black players? I suppose "5 black dudes runnin' up and down the court" makes it different and of course, LSU is a baseball school because most of the players are white like the fanbase. I'm not trying to play a race card, because like I said - it's unintentional. I think, however, that my point has some merit to it. I really don't know why people would assume or just plainly say that "LSU is not a basketball school."
Athletes are athletes. Football is king in the south because the non-athletes make it king. Trust me. AAU tourneys and high school basketball games are played more often than football is. If Baton Rouge and NOLA, etc. produce great football talent, why not basketball?
The problem is that LSU refuses to do what it takes to push LSU to the next level. I don't know what they need to do, but it ain't being done. I can assure you, however, that LSU doesn't have bacteria in the water that eat up persons' thoughts about basketball.
Teams struggle. Arkansas had a big win tonight, but what have they done in the last decade? Made about 3 NCAA appearances? I can assure you that Arkansas considers itself a basketball school. In fact, they consider themselves good at all 3 major sports.
Alabama ued to produce AWESOME defensive teams. I mean...you couldn't into their gym and put up 60 if you tried. They're one of the top 5 football institutions in the land on the gridiron...but I assure you, Derrick McKey, Robert Horry, and Antonio McDeyess will tell you that Bama is a basketball school.
Florida's fanbase just MIGHT be a football school only because while their basketball team wins back to backs, their fans are camped outside of their spring football game 24 hours before the guy with the red shirt on takes a snap.
Kentucky is a basketball school. And they could go 0-30 and still sell out Midnight Madness the following season.
I have seen the Deaf Dome, like many of you. I was at the Loyola-Mmt and UNLV games. Maybe the whole boat is all about "them days are gone" and I just do not realize that. Well, what science is there to prove that those days won't happen again? Recruiting? I can count on twenty hands the NBA talent that has come out of the southern states.
LSU is a basketball school. We're just like Arkansas and Bama and Tennessee and Florida. We have room for all three. For us to deny that is denying that we're a premier university in athletics. Texas, Oklahoma, USC, and Florida State can achieve greatness in all 3. Why not LSU? In my opinion, it's the short-sightedness of much of the "fanbase". The "can't wait for baseball" folks just don't get it.
