This. Or set the deadline to sign as July 1. That would be fair enough time for the schools to find backup plans, and plenty of time for MLB teams to negotiate. I know people are gonna say ZVR and Colvin signed in august last year but those teams probably wanted to see if they'd actually go to school. Most negotiating only has to be done with higher round picks, so each team only has a couple guys. And sometimes, negotiating isn't needed.
