Geauxst,
I regret I only have one downvote to give you.
This is an awful apology for what has transpired.

A good OC hire doesn't make up for a poorly handled HC search

We will see if it was a good hire after the season

That's how you know you're are a Monday morning QB! An AD doesn't have that luxury. An HC doesn't have that luxury. You make the best decision you can and then you have to live with it.

You've got two stud coordinators now and a staff that can recruit. I just don't understand why people can't see that there was more to this decision than just hiring a DL coach. Will Herman kill it at UT? Maybe he will but with the hiring of a good OC, the chances are higher we'll be better with what we've got and for a lot less money...

Well, we don't know if this staff can recruit or not. O did well recruiting for other head coaches. If He shits the bed (again) that dollar general coach will end up costing LSU a hell of a lot more in the future.

Nit, I respect your opinion, but O and Alleva ultimately held on and hired the best OC/DC combo on paper in CF. Now let's see if they can win games. Alleva gets all of the blame, deserves some, but he is the front man for the University Prez, Board, Politician, TAF, etc. He wanted Jimbo and Herman, and O performed well and won over TAF, the fans (not you and the haters) current and former players, etc, and his two main targets didn't want the job. Now let's see if he can bring in a top 5 class, win the Bowl game, and get going on 2017 and win a lot. The only other coach I would have liked to take a swing at is Fuentes, but one year in a Va Tech, it would be hard to pull him since he has the beginning of a good things in Blacksburg.
