Tim Brando was sportin' the worst toupee in the history of fake hair on TV about 3 or 4 years ago..He must've caught tons of flak over it because it looked a lot better when I saw him on TV again a few days later.

yeah .. i remember him when i was a kid on channel 9 .. he's always had a chip on his shoulder .. funny thing is, he never even went to LSU, went to northeast louisiana (now ULM) .. and dropped out after two years .. got a break at a local radio station after that ..

He was a member at a country club where I was a grill cook/pool waiter. He drank vodka freezes by the gallon and yelled at me when I was slow with his drinks. He'd hold court at the pool, big old belly all oiled up, and tell all of the drooling doctors and lawyers about how great being a sportscaster is.
In his defense, I remember him saying, several times actually, that his favorite sporting event to ever cover was the College World Series.
I think the guy loves LSU, but in remaining impartial, he sometimes veers a bit to the opposite bias. It's got to be difficult.
On the other hand, Reece Davis is a Bama grad, but you would never know it. The guy seems to like every school he reports on.

Probably because you guys have a habit of bad mouthing North Louisians, especially Shreveport, whenever you get a chance.

He openly criticized basketball attendance and inferred that race played and plays a large part in why the attendance is such.
Brando has been doing this for years

Maybe I am lost often.
Maybe race does play a part. Maybe if more African-Americans supported LSU athletics, Brando would see things differently.
I can only speak from someone that is an early forties Caucasian that slept on the sidewalk of the Assembly Center for tickets my entire four years at LSU, and even travelled to away games.
I certainly didn't see a problem with support then, and I don't remember any difference in the ethnic makeup of the team or crowd then. Football doesn't seem to lack support, and I would guess there is a similar makeup of the players and crowd. But, of course, I don't look at things from a racial perspective, so maybe you're right.
I haven't been to a Final Four, but I also haven't been to Omaha. I fail to see the correlation of support based on players' race, but maybe you have a point concerning those who support those players. I surely don't see the same percentage in the stands, but then again, things are often lost on me, as you point out.
My personal reason for not attending as many basketball games as I do football and baseball is tied to the commitment of the players. When I invest in following the football and baseball teams, I know those guys are going to be there for a minimum of three years.
As soon as LSU has a very talented player in basketball, the chemistry of the team never gets a chance to develop, because he is one and gone. I still go to one game a year, maybe two, and I watch on the internet or follow the game thread on here for every game. But, that's the extent of it. I don't see where my choice is or was affected by race.
I also don't remember support for football being exceptionally great during the Hallman/Dinardo days, and I fail to see a racial connection there, either. But, this too, is lost on me, the often blinded one.
