You see how this would be totally unfair to LSU.

The national championship game was last Saturday night. The rest of the season is just a formality. The two best teams played and LSU won

Not specifically LSU, LSU is just the case here. It would be unfair to any #1 team who already beat that #2 team when there are other teams with resumes that are equivalent record-wise. If you got three 1 loss teams fighting for the #2 spot, all from BCS major conferences, and the #1 already beat one of them (at their place when both teams had a week to prepare), it is really hard to advocate for a rematch, even if the resume and eye test of the team already beaten by #1 is better.

not if the team, beaten by #1 is viewed as hands down better than the other 1 loss teams.

BCS wants to put #1 vs #2, and is it really so hard to believe that the 2 best teams in 2011 might come from the same conference, especially since it's the SEC?

IF Stanford and Okie St. lose the only reason to say Bama shouldnt be #2 for title game is out of some misguided attempt to be "fair" to LSU

I suppose that the rest of the game should just be LSU vs Alabama, then Lsu vs Alabama, then finally right after thanksgiving it should be LSU vs Alabama gain. Then the following week Alabama would move to the east so they can play LSU in the SEC championship game again. THEN finally both play in the BCSNCG.

I mean if you don't like your first outcome you deserve a chance to repeat it again right? What if it was a 3point difference but this time for Bama. Then LSU would deserve another shot because now it is 1 and 1. THen if it ends up yet another close one say by 3 then Bama would want another shot citing they had already beaten LSU when they got another chance....yeah..... pathetic jack, just pathetic.

Go back and prepare for boise st. You are going to need to or else you would lay and egg in the sugarbowl.

NO Bama and No Oregon. We already beat them once. Bring on somebody who we have not beaten and let's do this right.

Oregon, more so than Bama, might have earned a shot. I don't want it, but, assuming a 1-loss Oregon team is the Pac-12 champ, and the #2 in the BCS. I can live with that rematch, although I won't be crazy about it.

Bama has no "play in" game, like a conference championship game, if we win out. Therefore, I don't see a solid argument for Bama, if there are any 1-loss BCS conference champs (Okie State or Oklahoma, Stanford or Oregon, Clemson or VPI, or Penn State). But the rules don't say that and there's no playoff yet (except the 1-game, 2-team playoff called the BCS-CG). So, if Bama's #2 when the time comes, we'll just have to rough them up in the Super Dome. Nothing personal.

no but that's not what we are talking about either. we are talking about who is the #2 team in the country.

If Bama played either Okie St. or Stanford next week, neutral field, and your life is on the line, who do you pick to win that game?

FYI I'm an LSU fan that would prefer to not see Bama in the BCSCG.

I don't give a frick who we play. That is not in our hands. I would say that the chances are around 30% it is bama again.

Rolltide10 has it right.

Why should we have to pass the same test twice? In order for us to play that game, we have to win out, play and win the SECCG to earn the right to play a team we already played and beat. Not fair.

I don't think its pathetic to say bring them on again. But I don't see why Lsu should have to beat Alabama twice, especially after winning on the road. And you are right, suppose bama beats Lsu in cg, after Lsu plays extra game in seccg, that's not equitable.

(Assuming Lsu gets past Arkansas, I know that is not a given.)

I'm just not sure they can get ahead of Bama. A 1-loss BCS conference Champ should - the computers may not agree, but the human pollsters that affect the thing should.

If it's up to the so-called experts, they won't. But I don't like the bias that these people seem to have. According to them, we didn't even "really" beat Bama Saturday night. Theey are some real idiots out there!

so if lsu is 13-0 and al is 11-1, isn't that a two game difference in wins?

that doesn't compute to 1 vs 2.

I don't want the rematch, cause frick Bama. The stars were aligned for them and they blew it. Why in the hell should they get another shot?

We'll play the SEC ship and they'll sit at home resting, then they get another shot at us for all the marbles?
