that's bullshite - if you wanna go to a soccer game then go to a freakin soccer game - I pay made 400,000 a year to go to this shite and was there when you could find tickets on the ground in the 90's!! This is LSU freakin football - not Tulane!! Stand your lazy asses up and if you do not want to stand stay your arse at home and give your tickets to someone who will!!

Agreed.
Too bad LSU had to put this common sense policy in writing. But, there are always dim wits out there that choose to exploit their "right" to stand. Who cares if it interferes with someone else trying to watch the game!
I say right on!

I didn't know so many people couldn't yell while seated. I think a scientific study needs to be done on this.

you should have your tickets taken away if ur sitting during a game in tiger stadium. if you wanna sit get a box.

Sitting down is for old farts.
the people who want to stand the entire game are the ones who are gone by halftime. i see it in our section every game.

Do any of you sitters and complainers bitch when someone stands while lsu is on D?
Do I have your permission to at least stand while we are on D ?
i stood the ENTIRE bcsncg because i was too tense to sit. however, i was on the top row and had my back to the wall so i wasn't disturbing anyone.

If one cannot complain about somebody standing for "significant" plays, what the hell is he/she in the stadium for anyways? Might as well not complain when no big shite is happening on the field.
Oh well...I think this is one of the rules made to address the political side of football administration. Here, you asked and we listened sorta bull crap!

I didn't realize we had so many women posting on the rant. With all the overreacting, bitching, and whining going on here it sounds like some sort of Lifetime woman's conference.
So anyone who opposes being forced to sit down by any stupid whiner who complains to the marshals is the one bitching and whining? That's one hell of a contortion of logic.
quote:
The policy just states don't be a douche. If you look around you and everyone's head is about two feet below yours, you're the odd man out, sit down.
It in no way states that you can't stand up. All the drama queens here crying, "OMG! I'm not allowed to stand any more... I'm gonna kick somebody's arse...," are sounding downright silly.
No, you don't get it. People already complain about fans who like to stand up before important plays on third downs, really important drives, and such. The wording of this policy gives what are supposed to be considered legitimate reasons for standing up, and anticipating action on an important play is not one of them.
By using the "spontaneous reaction" language, it seems to pretty clearly imply that it is discourteous to other fans to stand up before the ball is snapped, and moreover, that marshals will be enforcing this policy for any stupid, whiny little snitch who goes complaining about those rude "stander-uppers." THIS IS OBVIOUS bullshite!
Being discourteous should not include standing up to see the last 5 plays of a goalline drive on the other side of the field. Hell, it's "discourteous" to the whole concept of LSU football to NOT stand up in that situation.
There already exists a common sense rule regarding courtesy, and this extends to being loud and cursing and using up more space than you're allotted. There is also a rule against bringing umbrellas into the stadium for all the retards that used to do that.
But to equate those retards with people who merely want to stand up before the ball is snapped is horseshite. The entire tradition of LSU football rests upon the crowd standing up and roaring BEFORE the ball is snapped when LSU is on defense. If you don't like it, get another seat.
Bottom line: College varsity sports were not created to cater to the infirmities of elderly fans, or really any fans for that matter. It doesn't do anything good for the program to give ticket holders the right to make the person in front of them sit down before snaps. Make them take off the sombrero they're wearing? Yeah, that makes sense. But sitting down? No.

I'll still stand and cheer when LSU is on D, if you want to cry to a marshell go ahead.
Posted on 7/17/08 at 10:26 am to bfniii
Agreed. I stand and I sit depending on the situation...If I stand I will ask the fan(s) behind me if they can see..more often than not most will respond go ahead and stand..I think it more of a question of courtesy...yes and I am 57 yrs. old and I go the games with my friends that are in the early 30's so I am young at heart I just choose to be courteous to those around me.

Better duck, Pappa, a mob of those imbued with the wisdom of their one score and 5 are about to declare you fodder for the embalmer.

quote:Thank you for a prime example of overreacting. You use words like "anyone" and phrases like "any stupid whiner." No, Nancy, it's not "anyone," it's people who are being excessively discourteous. The policy states, "Continued standing during game action when other fans are sitting is discouraged and will be addressed by game marshals if complaints from other fans are reasonable and continuous". Now complain that the policy is too vague and leaves too much discretion to the marshals and you at least have a point that is arguable. Next time get permission from your husband before you post.
So anyone who opposes being forced to sit down by any stupid whiner who complains to the marshals is the one bitching and whining? That's one hell of a contortion of logic.
quote:This is only bullshite if you disregard the words following "spontaneous reaction." The policy states, "Spontaneous reaction to plays or significant events is expected and encouraged." So you are encouraged to stand before the ball is snapped if the play is a significant event. Who knew reading could be so much fun!
By using the "spontaneous reaction" language, it seems to pretty clearly imply that it is discourteous to other fans to stand up before the ball is snapped, and moreover, that marshals will be enforcing this policy for any stupid, whiny little snitch who goes complaining about those rude "stander-uppers." standers make noise, people who sit do not - Tiger Stadium is loud because of people who stand. I can personally tell you that we win gaems because of that crowd many times....if you disagree then bleaux me!!
